I'm a little late, but the last few days before Christmas were very busy, plus I caught a cold. Anyway, I drew this as a Christmas card for [livejournal.com profile] schwimmerin, because I never miss the chance to draw something silly.

It's almost Christmas and we're about to enter another semi-lockdown. If nothing major happens (fingers crossed!), I'll spend Christmas with my parents and work mainly from home, then I'll take a couple of days off after New Year's Day.

Anyway, all the Christmas cards have arrived safe and sound, so here they are.

Other than that there are no big updates, I'm counting the days until I can have a bit of peace and quiet. And eat A LOT of my mum's delicious food. :D

It's December! Christmas cards are done (one is already on its way, the other two will be sent out tomorrow or the day after) and I'm doing something I've never done before: my very own Advent Calendar! I was looking for a Good Omens Advent Calendar prompt list, but couldn't find any for 2020, so I created my own. (Of course today I found out that there IS one, but it was posted on a private Discord server...)

Anyway, I've written 24 ficlets, they're mostly humorous and fluffy and I'll be posting them from today until the 24th.

Did I just change my LJ layout from the "normal" one to the Christmas one? On the 15th of November? Yes, I did. And I'm not ashamed of it. Every year I see Christmas decorations being put up earlier and earlier and if there's a year when I need a bit of Christmas cheer, well, 2020 is that year.

Also, I started working on Christmas cards, so I guess I was just in a Christmas mood today.

I've lost count of how many times I wrote "Christmas" in this entry, so I'm gonna stop before I write it any more times.

It's time for the usual end of year memes. 2019 was a pretty intense year, both on the fandom front and in "real life": I saw Die Ärzte in Milan (!!!), Good Omens gave me inspiration to write and draw (I hadn't drawn comics in ages), I finally visited Japan! I don't know what to expect in 2020, but I hope it'll be a good year as well.

But before I forget (and I was about to forget), here are the three Christmas cards I sent out this year. I went for a more cartoonish style this year and I'm quite happy with the result.

It seemed funny when I first thought of it, but it's probably only funny in my head. Also why, WHY did I decide to draw the front of Aziraphale's bookshop when I'm clearly unable to draw any kind of architecture stuff? D:

I'm always so tired these days that I forgot to post my silly Good Omens Christmas comic here. There's also another one I'm working on, it's almost done, I should be able to post it before Christmas. If I don't die of exhaustion in the meantime.

Warning: it's SILLY )

OMG it's already December! Today I thought it would be nice to do an Advent Calendar (more precisely, a Good Omens fanart Advent Calendar), but of course it's too late now. Besides, I can't keep up with Inktober, I doubt I would be able to draw and post something every day in December. But I found out Drawlight is posting an Advent Calendar on AO3 (Carol of the bells, a story with 31 short chapters, one posted every day) and there's the usual Good Omens Holiday Exchange ([community profile] go_exchange), I'm already looking forward to all the GO stuff that will be posted. Plus, I'm thinking of doing another DTIYS I saw on Instagram... So many options, so little time!

NEWSFLASH: the Christmas cards are done! Before the end of November! I'm shocked. I tried a slightly different style this year, even more cartoonish than usual, I hope the people who'll get them will like them (you know who you are).

Other than that, I started watching "Tokyo Girl" on Amazon Prime Video and I'm currently reading "Convenience store woman" (*GASP* An actual book? Not just fanfiction?), both suggested by a colleague who lived in Japan for a few years, and I'm loving them.

Last but not least, I went to a concert with the above-mentioned colleague last night: we saw Cristina D'Avena, who was the childhood idol of pretty much every Italian child born in the '80s and '90s, as she sang almost all the opening songs of the cartoons that were on TV in those years. She performed with Gem Boy, a band who usually plays parodies of cartoon songs. I saw her playing with them a few years ago and it was one of the funniest concerts I've been to, so when my colleague told me she was going to the concert yesterday, I immediately tagged along. It was a great night, the venue was the same one where Die Ärzte played in May (I hadn't been there in 10 years and now I've gone twice within 6 months), it was packed and everyone was singing and screaming their heads off, it was amazing.

But now I'd better go to bed, I have a training session at work tomorrow and I'm the trainer, it wouldn't be nice if I were to fall asleep in front of everyone...

I sent out the Christmas card for [livejournal.com profile] schwimmerin early this year and she already received it, so I'll share it here:

So much glitter )
I haven't sent out the other two cards yet, but as they are staying in Europe, I hope they'll arrive in time even if I send them next week.

And I'm seeing The Dead Lovers live next week! I haven't spent a weekend out of town in a while, I'm really looking forward to it.

It's November! Which means I need to start thinking of Christmas cards. I already have ideas for the people I usually send cards to, but let me know if you have any specific request.

Also, I'll post an Inktober recap. I only managed 9 drawings, but I'm not too disappointed, given that I hadn't really drawn anything in ages. And I'm ridiculously proud of the last one.

Two out of three Christmas cards arrived safe and sound, I'll post them here behind a cut for those who are curious:

And because it's the 30th of December and I don't know if I'm going to have time tomorrow, here are the usual End of Year memes.

Christmas cards are done! I was all happy today because I was ready to send them off, but when I arrived at the post office, I found out it was closed for a "union meeting". WTF. Hopefully I'll be able to send them tomorrow and they'll arrive before Christmas. Fingers crossed!

Merry Christmas DW and LJ friends! I'm spending the day with my parents eating too much (as usual).

I haven't posted the Christmas cards I made for [personal profile] polarforscherin and [livejournal.com profile] schwimmerin yet. I know the former arrived safe and sound, I hope the latter did too. Anyway, I'm putting them behind a cut, just in case [livejournal.com profile] schwimmerin hasn't received hers yet and doesn't want spoilers. ^_^'

It's a bit early for the Christmassy layout, but I've been in a Christmas mood the whole week, so who cares. Also, I'm working on the Christmas cards (I'm a bit behind schedule, but that's nothing new) AND I'm taking a day trip to South Tyrol to see a Christmas market tomorrow. So, yeah, let's bring out the Christmas layout! \o/

So, [personal profile] polarforscherin's Christmas card seems to be lost forever. :(

Luckily, I always take pictures of the cards I draw before sending them, so she can at least see what it looked like:

Hopefully it's one of those cases when letters turn up randomly months or years later. Never say never! XD

And while I'm on the topic of Christmas cards, here are the other two I sent this year:

First of all: thanks for the Christmas card, [profile] schwimmerin! Remembering our adventures around Northern Italy from last year put a big grin on my face.

I was a bit late sending out cards this year, I'm afraid some of you won't get it before the 25th. Hopefully before the 31st? Sorry. :(

Other than that, I've been quite busy visiting the annual arts & crafts fair earlier this month (where a veeery cute German vendor started talking to me in German when he saw my St Pauli jacket) and the O Bej O Bej market in Milan (a traditional market held around St. Ambrose's Day).

Last night I went to see Madame Sadowsky. Man, had I missed a good night out. I had to go on my own because none of my friends could come with me, but I decided to go anyway and I'm very glad I did. I hadn't danced so much in ages. Also, I thought of [profile] schwimmerin because there was a Farin look-alike! I did a double take, at a first glance I really thought it was him! (Just younger. XD)

And tonight I'm seeing Bluvertigo! It's going to be a stroll down memory lane, they were my favourite band in the late '90s.

And on Sunday I'll be a zombie. I'm getting too old for this kind of weekend... XD

Three out of four Christmas cards have reached their recipients, so I can share them here.

The Christmas cards are done! \o/ I should be able to send them out the day after tomorrow if the sore throat I have today doesn't turn into a nasty cold, so keep your fingers crossed.

Now that I have time, I was thinking of doing a sort of Advent Calendar, posting a drawing or drabble each day until Christmas, but I've already skipped two days. Oh, well. Does anyone have any request?

I went to the annual arts and crafts fair on Saturday and, well, this happened:

I'm worse than a 5-year-old. XD I had talked about the Time-Turner with a colleague just a few weeks ago and when I saw a stand selling Harry Potter themed merchandise I couldn't resist. Then, about 20 minutes later, I saw another stand that sold fantasy gadgets (Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter etc.) and they had magic wands! Harry's, Hermione's, Dumbledore's and Voldemort's. And because I had just bought a Time-Turner, I thought "Well, who knows, I may want to dress up as Hermione for Halloween or Carnival or something, I have the perfect hair for that..." So, yeah, I ended up buying her wand. My inner fangirl is extremely pleased. XD
gothikmaus: (Ginger alert!)
BBC Radio 4 Christmas schedule: Cabin Pressure (sadly, the last two episodes) and GOOD OMENS! :D

And the best thing about it? Unlike TV shows, which are not available for people abroad, I can listen to radio shows on the BBC iPlayer! I can't wait! :D

Talking of Christmas, I'm almost done with Christmas cards, if nothing major happens, I should be able to send them off next week. I've had so much fun drawing them, I know I say it all the time, but I should really draw more often. Well, now that I'm unemployed I have no excuse. Apart from my laziness, that is. Mycroft would be proud. XD
