I'm a little late, but the last few days before Christmas were very busy, plus I caught a cold. Anyway, I drew this as a Christmas card for [livejournal.com profile] schwimmerin, because I never miss the chance to draw something silly.

Merry Christmas from the Fourteenth Doctor )

I've been back for almost a week, but I couldn't find the time and energy to write about my London trip until now. I've been very tired for some reason, it's like the 1-hour time difference made me really jet-lagged. Anyway. The highlight of my mini holiday was, of course, seeing David Tennant live! I'm so, so happy! I really enjoyed the play, it was about a very serious topic (well, a tragic topic, since it was set in Nazi Germany), but with a touch of British humour. And the actors were amazing. And I was so close to the stage! My seat was in the 4th row, but the theatre wasn't too big, so it was really just a few meters away from the stage. And I got an autograph! He was so nice, even if he didn't stay long, he took the time to sign something for all the people who had waited for him after the show. I still remember the way he practically jumped out of the stage door. And he always looked up and looked at the person in front of him after signing each authograph. He's so lovely. >_<

I actually saw him twice: on Friday night I saw the play and got an authograph, but I was too star-truck to say anything other than "Thank you", so I went back the next day, to see if I could sneak another look. It turned out he had guests that night, so we had to wait for over an hour, but he did come out to sign programmes and tickets. I didn't have anything to sign (he had already signed my programme the previous night), but I really just wanted to see him again and try to say something. In the end, I thanked him and told him it had been worth coming from Milan, and he replied "Thank you for coming all this way."

I'm such a ridiculous fangirl, but I don't care.

Other than that, I was really lucky, it didn't rain a single drop, which for London in November is a miracle. I saw two exhibitions on Japan, one at the Japan House and one at the Japan Embassy, I survived a Tube strike, went to Camden Town and Covent Garden, had mulled wine at a Christmas market in Leicester Square, saw the famous angel Christmas lights on Regent Street and the less traditional ones on Carnaby Street, saw Leadenhall Market and Old Spitalfields Market, visited House of MinaLima, and walked so much my feet were screaming at me every night. And I treated myself to fancy cream tea, because why not?

I also did a bit of Christmas shopping for my friends and finally bought myself Cards Against Humanity. And I got Christmas pudding, mince pies and Christmas crackers, just to have something a little different for Christmas this year.

A very successful trip, I'd say!

Oh, man, I've just finished watching "Staged" and my cheeks hurt from laughing too much. David and Michael are brilliant in it, there were sad moments and surprise guests and... I loved it. Also, when I found out they were supposed to star in "Six characters in search of an author", which is an Italian play, I lost it a little bit.

Anyway. Yesterday I sent out the second piece for the Good Omens fanzine I'm in! I did it! It's the first time I've been invited to collaborate on a zine and I did two pieces! :D I also tried to work on one of my GO WIPs, but I just added a couple of paragraphs and did some minor edits, I wasn't really focused on it.

I'd like to finish it before I have to go back to the office full-time, which might happen sooner rather than later. We can technically apply to continue teleworking part-time once the emergency is over, but our boss doesn't seem too thrilled by the idea. He's actually very eager to have as many people as possible back in the office soon. I don't mind going back, and there are certain things I can only do from there, but working from home a couple of days a week would be nice.

In my current quest to catch up with David Tennant's latest roles, I stumbled upon "You, Me and Him". I was a bit "Meh" at first, but then I found a few clips online and realised one of the actresses is Faye Marsay, who played Steph in "Pride". I had such a huge crush on her in that film, so I decided to give it a try. So I'm watching this clip, just to understand what kind of film it is and ASDFGHJKL.

(The video should start from 2:05, that's the point that made me go ASDFGHJKL. Of all the names they could use!!!)

Guess who bought a ticket to see "Good", a play starring David Tennant, in London in December? Spoiler: IT'S ME!!!

Some time ago I read that David would be back on stage later this year, but I only checked the dates quickly, as my mind was elsewere. But last night, after finishing the first round of proofreading, I went to the Playhouse Theatre website and had a good look. At first I only focused on Saturdays, because who knows how many leave days I'll still have after the summer, I've already used quite a few, but then I realised the 7th and 8th December (a Monday and a Tuesday) are holidays in Milan and thought "F*ck it, I'm gonna buy a ticket!"

I just wanted a regular ticket, but when I selected the seat (5th row, because I WANNA SEE HIM, DAMMIT), the only available option was the "Champagne Experience".

Champagne Experience: Includes Ambassador Lounge entry, glass of champagne, savoury snacks and an ice-cream

And, well, who am I to say no to free champagne and ice-cream? XD

I will be in full fangirl mode in December: David on the 7th in London and Die Ärzte on the 19th in Berlin! 2020 started off in a horrible way, but if things go according to plan, it may end spectacularly!

(I also added an insurance to my ticket, something I've never done before, but you can never be too cautious, what with the Coronavirus hysteria and bloody Brexit...)

This week has been an emotional rollercoster. I'm still completely head over heels with Good Omens, which caused my dormant David Tennant crush to resurface full-force (I binged-watched the whole first season of Jessica Jones in a matter of days and completely messed up my sleep pattern, why, oh why), joined by a newly acquired Michael Sheen crush, because that man is just too cute for words. (I've also found some pictures from when he was in "Underworld" and ASDFGHJKL. I mean: Exhibit # 1; Exhibit # 2)

Anyway. There's that. Then on Thursday night I went to the special screening of The Cure in Hyde Park concert, which was AMAZING, I'm sure I had a grin on my face the whole time. I also randomly ran into some people I know from various goth nights and the Easy Cure singer (of course).

And then last night I saw Muse at San Siro stadium and it was UNBELIEVABLE. I wasn't aiming for front row, so I arrived around 5:30 PM, only to find out they had divided the pit with barriers and you could only access the front area if you had a bracelet (which I suppose they were handing out before I got there). I was a bit disappointed at first, but then I found a perfect spot right at the barrier from where I could see everything. Also, given the elaborate scenography, it was maybe better to stand a couple of meters further away from the stage and not right in the middle of the front area (which was quite small, anyway).

And, boy, what a great show. I thought the ticket was too expensive when I bought it, but it was totally worth the price. Also, even if I wasn't as "emotionally invested" as with The Cure or Die Ärzte, there were still a couple of songs that hit a little too close to home. Sigh.

I didn't feel like forking out €35 for a T-shirt at the end of the concert, so I just got a custom cup for €2, which has now joined my two Ärzte cups.

This was the last big concert I had planned for this year, but I have discovered a couple of new bands along the way, so who knows.

Right, let's see if I can go to bed at a decent hour tonight... ¬_¬

Just a quick post before I go out for the last round of Christmas shopping.

[livejournal.com profile] urania_chan and [livejournal.com profile] schwimmerin got their Christmas cards! \o/ I should really stop complaining about the Italian posts: the card I sent to Germany only took 2 days to arrive and the ones I sent to Norway and the USA only 4 days. Only 2 more cards are still on their way, one to the USA and the other to Scotland (it's technically 2 cards to Scotland, but they're travelling in the same envelope).

Anyway, here are the drawings I did for [livejournal.com profile] urania_chan and [livejournal.com profile] schwimmerin.

Right, I'm off. Hopefully I won't get crushed by the crowd of Christmas shoppers...

Er, what?

What the hell, two Sherlock dreams in two days? And the one from last night was slashy too! Basically, Sherlock had been gone for a month, I don't know if he had been at the hospital because of what might have happened after the cliffhanger of doom (aka, the end of The Great Game), or if he'd simply disappeared because of a case. Anyway, John was all sad and waiting for him to return, then he opened the door and found him sitting on the stairs leading up to their flat. John said something and Sherlock replied in a whisper. I don't remember what they said to each other but it was something like "OMG, you're back! You're alive!" "Yes. And I'm not going anywhere." :3

And the next scene featured the attack of a group of zombies. XD I was on a balcony when I saw them approach and wanted to say "OMG, flesh-eating zombies!" (yes, the dream was in English), but I ended up saying "OMG, zombie-eating flesh!" My mind is so fucked up. XD

All right, off to post two more Christmas cards. They're going to Scotland... :)

And apropos Christmas cards: Jenny already received hers! And she was kind enough to allow me to share it with my flist. ;)

The quality is rather poor, I had to take a picture of it and the flash killed the colours. ;_;

I know I'm going to regret staying up so late (I'm supposed to wake up in just a few hours and be out all day), but I'm not tired at all. Sigh.

This made my day: Doctor Who, New Earth.

The Italian version was hilarious as well (the voice of the actor dubbing David Tennant is growing on me), but the original one is priceless. ♥

I had the weirdest Holmes-themed dream last night, featuring both BBC!Sherlock and Granada!Sherlock. It started out with BBC!Sherlock looking for some kind of assistant (read: nanny) for him and John, but there was more to it than that, I saw him talk to some man and by choosing said assistant he had to prove he was right about something - as usual. Then there was a Christmas buffet of sorts and a treasure hunt based on a Christmas story I didn't know, so I only got 2 items out of 5 and they were wrong. Granada!Holmes was very disappointed in me and I was all "But... but... I didn't know what I was supposed to find! D:" Then, after a magical change of scenery, I was somewhere in the country witnessing a romantic date between Granada!Holmes and a random young lady, she was quite sad because she knew he would always love his work more than her and she gave him some books as a present because the next day was a birthday or anniversary and said "I understand if you can't spend the day with me, don't worry." And he was all "OMG I'm such an idiot," and hugged her and whispered something I couldn't quite understand.

Er, yeah, whatever. >_>

Anyway, look what I bought yesterday! :D

Yesss, leather gloves! All I need now is a fedora hat and then I'm all set for autumn. I also bought a long-sleeved top - purple, how predictable. I was looking for an L size, but they only had it in S and M, so I picked up the M one and went to try it on, expecting it to be too small, but it actually fit. I was all "What?!" I keep forgetting I lost weight in Berlin and haven't gained it back.

Tonight my friends are playing in front of the theatre where I did an internship in 2007. I sent an email to one of the guys working there to promote the gig, he said he doesn't know if he can make it, but he forwarded the email to a few other people. I also "casually" mentioned I'm looking for a job and he said I should go the opening of their new library on Saturday, so we can have a chat. Now, I don't want to get my hopes high, but damn, I wouldn't mind working for them again!

And psst [livejournal.com profile] schwimmerin:

Dear subconscious,

what are you trying to tell me? Last night I dreamed of John Barrowman. I don't remember much, just that he was a big fan of my fanfics, he was all "OMG, it's you who wrote that story?! I LOVE IT!" It was one of my first fics and I told him "I wrote that story 10 years ago! How embarrassing..." He was all smiling and hyper and cute as hell. The whole thing was in English, by the way.

Now, last week I gave in and started watching Doctor Who, just to see what the fuss is all about. And because I've had a ridiculous crush on David Tennant for a while and would like to see more of him than Barty Crouch Jr. I had also heard about Torchwood a few years ago, as someone on my flist was a fan, but I had no idea it was a Doctor Who spin off, I didn't know who the actors were and was generally not interested. I've watched the first 4 episodes of Doctor Who so far (9th Doctor) and I'm currenty waiting for episode 5 to load. I haven't gone all fangirly on it like I did with Sherlock Holmes, I mean, I quite like it, but I'm not flailing all over the room. That may change when the 10th Doctor arrives, though. >_>

Anyway, any possible explanations for last night's dream? I suspect watching this clip repeatedly last week may have something to do with it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fVwJVy-rgM

And let's not forget the infamous Comic Con '09 kiss clip:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jfq5UAk1Bxc
gothikmaus: (Bloody Lips)
I'd gladly pay 50 quid for that. And the additional 50 as well.

What the heck does he say before kissing her, btw?

I started off the evening reading poetry and ended up with... this. How did that happen?! Time to get off line, I think.

EDIT: All right, I lied, I didn't get off line. But how can I when I keep finding stuff like this:

Laughing my arse off, yes, I am. XD

What?

Resignation letter is printed, I'm going to hand it in this evening, wish me good luck.

My friends found a small flat (an attic, actually) where I could stay that's 5 minutes away from where they live (Wilmersdorf), but the owner wants to know the exact dates of when I'm arriving and leaving within this week, because there are other people interested, but I don't know yet. I'm looking at wg-gesucht.de as well and found a few announcements for WGs close to the language school in Prenzlauer Berg.

And, if my muse doesn't go on strike, I may even finish that Richy/Igor fic I started last week. :)

PS I had a dream about Doctor Who last night. And there was some snogging involved. WTF? I've never watched a single episode of Doctor Who, I don't even know what the series is about! I only know that David Tennant's in it because I've seen it on my flist!

Not that I'm complaining, there are worse people to snog in dreamland... :P
