I saw this challenge on Tumblr a couple of weeks ago and thought I could give it a go... And of course I've already fallen behind. Oh, well, I'm only using it as inspiration and as a stimulus to avoid getting too lazy.

Anyway. I usually draw little manga-style self portraits when I write letters, postcards etc., but for this I wanted to try something a little different. Still cartoonish, but in a slightly different style from what I'm used to.

After seeing reels upon reels on how to make simple watercolour Christmas cards on Instagram, I decided to experiment a bit. They are very basic, but I had to start somewhere.

I was hoping to have more time to draw in October, but it turned out to be a pretty busy month (luckily in a good, non work-related way). Some of the Drawlloween 2025 prompts were very interesting, but I hated how my first attempt turned out (for the "Undead" prompt) and I was tempted to just give up. Luckily I remembered that not everything I draw must be "good" (I'm still working on that), and if I don't like how something is coming along, I can simply draw something else.

So I ended up drawing two sketches: one for the "Yokai" prompt and one for the "Rest in peace" prompt. They're quite simple, but I'm happy with them.

After an extremely productive 2020 (I swear I've never drawn so much in my life), one of my New Year's resolutions was to keep drawing. I don't care if I don't draw or write as much as I did last year, I just want to keep doing it. And then, near the end of December, I had an idea for something that could become a webcomic. So, I guess my main goal this year will be to develop that idea and see if I can do something about it.

That, and to finally draw some decent Jigen fanart. I've been wanting to forever, but I always thought I'm not "good enough", so I shouldn't even bother. Well, not any more! I want to at least try and, if it really turns out awful, well, no one needs to know, right?

It's almost Christmas and we're about to enter another semi-lockdown. If nothing major happens (fingers crossed!), I'll spend Christmas with my parents and work mainly from home, then I'll take a couple of days off after New Year's Day.

Anyway, all the Christmas cards have arrived safe and sound, so here they are.

Other than that there are no big updates, I'm counting the days until I can have a bit of peace and quiet. And eat A LOT of my mum's delicious food. :D

It's time for the usual end of year memes. 2019 was a pretty intense year, both on the fandom front and in "real life": I saw Die Ärzte in Milan (!!!), Good Omens gave me inspiration to write and draw (I hadn't drawn comics in ages), I finally visited Japan! I don't know what to expect in 2020, but I hope it'll be a good year as well.

But before I forget (and I was about to forget), here are the three Christmas cards I sent out this year. I went for a more cartoonish style this year and I'm quite happy with the result.
