I've been so busy bitching about my job lately that I haven't posted a fangirly entry in ages. To try and correct this, have this tweet by Alex, from when he live-tweeted during the premiere last week. Yeah, it's old news, but it made me laugh.

Still working on that DÄ concert list. I can only say this: it's LONG.

Also: it's Friday, I only have two more hours to work and I'm going to an Indian restaurant with some friends for dinner tonight. Weekend, here I come!

Oh. My. God. I'm going back to my old school to talk about our exchange program next week, so I had a look at their website. First of all: they recently moved to a new address after a push and pull that lasted for more than 15 years (there were rumours about moving when I was still in school). But on the site there are 3 different addresses listed: the new one and the old ones, and it's not clear whether they have already moved or are planning to. I see they are still as disorganised as ever. They also have a page with little video interviews with ex students and they interviewed 3 of my classmates! I was laughing so hard. Of course our resident diva is platinum blonde now.

And while we're talking about schools, I've just called my old Berlin school to ask about the exchange program in Germany. I hadn't spoken German is such a long time, I was all nervous. But that's a nice coincidence, as I wrote an email in German just a couple of hours ago. And to Farin no less! Thanks for the heads-up, Jenny! :D Less than two weeks till the concert in Friedrichshafen!

Man, knowing that Alex and Scott are just a couple of miles away from me has been driving me a little crazy today. I had already planned on going for a walk in Beverly Hills today and when I found out that the CBS TCA thing was being held at the Beverly Hilton I couldn't help making a little detour to see if maybe I could catch a glimpse of someone. Of course I didn't see anyone, but thank God for Twitter which brings us stuff like this:

In other news, hi, I got back from San Francisco safe and sound. Did I even mention I was going to SF? Maybe not. Oh well, the trip deserves its own post, so for now let's just keep fangirling. Seriously, these two... ♥♥♥

I went to the Getty Centre today. I loved the exhibitions (Klimt is one of my all-time favourite artists and Herb Ritts's photographs are amazing), the garden was beautiful and the view breathtaking, but at one point I got all melancholy. I'll blame it on that time of the month and hope I'll feel better tomorrow.

Right, going back to not thinking about the DÄ gigs in Berlin. Sigh.

(Tiny rant: why can't you link back to the original picture when you post pictures from Scrapbook now? I mean, you can, but you must add the link manually. Sure, I used to remove the link sometimes when I posted small/medium pictures, but it's easier to remove a link than to add it. Way to go, LJ. I hope they fix things soon or I may as well stop using Scrapbook, the only reason I used it was because it was very easy to post a resized picture that linked back to the original size. If I have to manually add the link each time, I may as well upload pictures somewhere else. /rant)

In other news, yesterday's risotto with asparagus was divine. Who knew I can actually cook decently? I guess years spent watching my mum cook (and cleaning up the kitchen afterwards) paid off in the end...

Here's the original interview, in which he says us Europeans are smart lucky and understand irony, whereas in America "irony is lost everywhere". And that little smile hints at some personal experience, I'm sure.

Now, I don't want to generalise, but there's a reason if we beg students applying for a high school year in the US to "please avoid humour" in their presentation letters. But really, irony is such a subtle thing, it's just so easy to be misunderstood even in your own country among people who speak the same language.
