Challenge #9
In your own space, promote at least one canon that you adore (old, new, forever fandom). Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I may not be active in the Harry Potter fandom any more, but I still like that universe and I love the idea that Snape and Lily were friends as kids and that, later on, he was secretely in love with her but never acted upon it. Snape's whole life was really tragic: Lily was his only real friend and his only love and he pushed her away because of his pride; later he had to witness her falling in love with one of the people he despised the most; he couldn't save her from Voldemort and had to spend years protecting her son, who pretty much hated him, all the while being perfectly aware he was just a paw in Dumbledore's hands. JK Rowling was really cruel to him, but all that backstory explains so much of Snape's personality and choices in the books.
And of course the "After all this time?" "Always" bit never fails to break my heart. T_T
Challenge #10
In your own space, talk About A Creator/Someone Who Inspired You. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
A lot of people inspired me through the years, but I would say Robert Smith and Simon Gallup from The Cure are two of the public figures who shaped my personality the most. The Cure were a huge influence in my early '20s and their songs are a fundamental part of who I am today. Robert Smith is of course the heart of the band, while Simon Gallup was the reason I started playing bass and influenced my style. And they were my first OTP, the one that inspired me to write fanfiction and draw fanart, so they will always have a special place in my heart. ♥
