Christmas cards and End of Year memes

I chose good old Farin for

polarforscherin. Not really original, I know, but hopefully the recepients liked their cards.

LIFE, THE UNIVERSE AND EVERYTHING
What did you do in 2017 that you'd never done before?
Dated a guy shorter than me, bought a flat, done a series of bureaucratic things related to said flat.
Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I wanted to find a flat and I did! \o/ I wanted to finish that Mystrade fic and write/draw more and I didn't. I wanted to read more non-fanfiction and I sort of did. I didn't play bass or piano, but I'm still going to the gym regularly. All in all, I'd say it was a success.
As for next year, let's see if I can finally finish that blasted fic (it's almost done, dammit!) and maybe draw a little more, read a little more and go back to taking photos with my reflex camera, I haven't used it much this year.
Did anyone close to you give birth?
My friend V.
Did anyone close to you die?
A few elderly family friends.
What countries did you visit?
I didn't travel abroad this year. Well, I did visit the Vatican Museums, which technically are abroad... ^_^'
What would you like to have in 2018 that you lacked in 2017?
A real holiday.
What dates from 2017 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
New Year's Day, a certain day at the end of February, the day I shared a birthday party with V.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Buying a flat!
What was your biggest failure?
Not getting a ticket for the next Depeche Mode concert, not finishing that Mystrade fic. Also, not a failure, more of a disappointment: realising I didn't want a relationship with A. after all.
Did you suffer illness or injury?
Just a bad cold.
What was the best thing you bought?
My flat, my new bed.
Whose behavior merited celebration?
My parents, for their huge help.
Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Politicians.
Where did most of your money go?
Flat.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?

I went to a Mexican restaurant for a combined celebration with a friend (our birthdays are about a week apart). I turned 37.
What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
2017 was a pretty satisfying year, to tell the truth. A real holiday would've been nice, though.
How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2017?
Back to black.
What kept you sane?
Fandom (for the first half of the year) and finally finding a flat.

Mark Gatiss in the first part of the year, Andy from Bluvertigo for the remaining part.
