First of all: thanks for the Christmas card, [profile] schwimmerin! Remembering our adventures around Northern Italy from last year put a big grin on my face.

I was a bit late sending out cards this year, I'm afraid some of you won't get it before the 25th. Hopefully before the 31st? Sorry. :(

Other than that, I've been quite busy visiting the annual arts & crafts fair earlier this month (where a veeery cute German vendor started talking to me in German when he saw my St Pauli jacket) and the O Bej O Bej market in Milan (a traditional market held around St. Ambrose's Day).

Last night I went to see Madame Sadowsky. Man, had I missed a good night out. I had to go on my own because none of my friends could come with me, but I decided to go anyway and I'm very glad I did. I hadn't danced so much in ages. Also, I thought of [profile] schwimmerin because there was a Farin look-alike! I did a double take, at a first glance I really thought it was him! (Just younger. XD)

And tonight I'm seeing Bluvertigo! It's going to be a stroll down memory lane, they were my favourite band in the late '90s.

And on Sunday I'll be a zombie. I'm getting too old for this kind of weekend... XD

I went to see a Bluvertigo concert last night and thought I would be a zombie today, but it wasn't too bad in the end, considering I only slept 4 hours.

Bluvertigo are one of my favourite Italian bands, I was pretty much obsessed with them in the late '90s. They stopped making music together years ago, as the members were busy with different projects (the lead singer/bassist even became one of the judges in the Italian edition of X-Factor - DOH!) They played a reunion concert a few years ago, I went to see them also back then and every time I see them live I have a great time.

Here, have a picture of them. If I remember correctly, [personal profile] polarforscherin will appreciate someone in it. ;)

I've finally uploaded the pictures from the Prague concert:

Some turned out quite well, some needed touching up in Photoshop, but they're decent enough.

Also, I've been in total MOLEST MODE since I saw this picture earlier:

*MOLESTS* )

Argh. And then I had to go and see this other pic:

*MOLESTS SOME MORE* )

Man. If I see that pretty goth guy on the underground again this evening... I don't know if I'll be able to control myself. He was even wearing a Cure T-shirt last week! >_<

Sigh. I need a man. T_T

EDIT: [livejournal.com profile] flaschengeist wanted to see my new Bluvertigo poster:

Last night, 7 or 8 years after seeing them live for the last time, I went to a Bluvertigo concert. I was a huge fan when I was in school (thanks S. for giving me their second CD as Christmas gift in 1997) and they're still one of my favourite bands. The concert was great, they're very good musicians and Morgan (the singer and bass player) is still as charismatic as ever, but something was missing. Maybe the short summer tour wasn't enough to get back the "band feeling" - they hadn't played together for a few years after all; maybe it was the location, a bit too big for them right now; maybe it was the technical problems Morgan seemed to have (not smoking a whole pack of cigarettes during one concert may also help your voice, dear). Or maybe it was just me: of course seeing them now it's different from seeing them 10 years ago, when I was 18 and they were at their highest point.

But their shows are always worth seeing, especially when they get half naked and start randomly hugging each other. (At one point Morgan went over to Andy and hugged him, and a girl standing behind me squealed: "They love each other!" XD)

There are rumours of a new album coming out next year. Hopefully that's true and by the time they go on tour again the "band feeling" will be back. But I know I'll go see them live no matter what, don't they say you'll always love the music you fall in love with when you're 17?

WHAT??? Bluvertigo are finally playing in Milan after all these years, a free concert (MySpace Secret Show) and I don't know if I can go. D: The concert is on Friday and I'll have to get up at 5:00 AM to go to the airport on Saturday. I mean, I could go, sleep 3 hours and then promptly pass out on the plane, but... Life's not faaaaair... *whines*

Anyway, a have a job interview today, keep your fingers crossed for me, please?

And today is officially "Farin's bloody cute day". See pictures for evidence.

Bluvertigo, my favourite Italian band, are back! After 8 years! YES! Too bad there aren't any concerts around Milan at the moment.

But they finally put some of their videos online: http://it.youtube.com/bluvertigoofficial

Have a look at them impersonating Kraftwerk and other random '80s bands:

And for the Italian-speaking people in my flist, here's a double interview featuring Morgan (the singer) and Asia Argento (director/actress/king of horror Dario Argento's daughter). They were together at the time (they have a daughter) and Morgan was so totally submissive, poor thing. XD

Wasting time at work instead of working on my final paper. But that's nothing new.

I uploaded some pictures from Morgan's concert, they're a bit blurry as I tried to take them without flashlight:

Morgan live @ Musicdrome, 22/12/2007

It was just him and another musician on stage and they had 15 keyboards. And a theremin. ♥ And a vibraphone too, but they only used it to get a tinkling sound when they touched their wine glasses together. ^_^ Two hours of pure electro-music, definitely a concert worth seeing. They played some songs from Morgan's solo albums plus a few Bluvertigo songs. Bluvertigo is my favourite Italian band, but they haven't made anything new for 5 years now and that makes me really sad, they were brilliant and I was sooo in love with them when I was 17/18 years old. It was nice hearing their songs live again, but having only 1/4 of the band on stage isn't the same.

A couple of links to some of their videos:

"Fuori dal tempo", Bluvertigo

"Disco Labirinto", Subsonica featuring Bluvertigo

I couldn't find a decent version of "Altre forme di vita", pity, the video was great, a homage to various '70s/'80s groups, including punk, new romantic and Kraftwerk.

Anyway, it was Morgan's birthday (and I remembered! Once a fangirl, always a fangirl ^_^), so Megahertz (the musician who was on stage with him) played "Happy birthday" with the theremin! It was the first time I'd seen anyone play the theremin live and it was amazing. Here's a little video I took, unfortunately it's quite dark and the quality could be better (I had to rotate it), but the audio should be all right:

And because I love you all... DIE ÄRZTE PICSPAM!!!

Yaaay! )
