I've wanted to post more dialect for some time and last night I had a little chat about accents with [livejournal.com profile] kiviraat on Twitter and thought I could post little audio files of me talking in Italian and dialect, just to show the difference. And while I was at it, I recorded the same sentence in English and German as well, just because. I chose the sentence "Today I went to the baker's and bought two rolls" because [livejournal.com profile] killer_ameise once said something about it being a sentence that reveals a lot about your origins. Sorry, I don't remember why, was it because there are a lot of different ways to say bread/rolls, depending on where you come from?

Anyway, here they are. The volume is quite low, I hope you can hear something. If not, let me know and I'll record them again.

Italiano: "Oggi sono andata dal panettiere e ho comprato due panini."

Brianzöo: "Incöo sunt andada dal prestinée a tö dü michett."

English: "Today I went to the baker's and bought two rolls."

Deutsch: "Heute bin ich zum Bäcker gegangen und hab zwei Schrippen gekauft."

Is it just me or does my voice sound different when I speak in different languages? o_O

The hell?

I dreamed of Farin again last night. WTF, that's the second time in 4 days! I was at a sort of lecture or press conference with a friend and Farin was there to talk about his next big trip: he said he was going to take part in an expedition to explore a volcano on a tropical island and looked very excited about it. At the end of his speech the audience could ask questions and my friend asked him if they could keep in touch (I think she actually asked if she could call him on his cell phone) while he was away. He said no, of course, and I got so mad at her, because I thought "Great, now Farin will think I'm a crazy stalker, just because my friend's an idiot." I started telling her she shouldn't have asked such a stupid question, that everyone knows how much Farin values his privacy, bla bla bla and, while I was in the middle of my rant, I saw Farin walking to the door. I went up to him and said "Have a nice trip". He shook my hand, gave me two kisses on the cheeks and left. And then I woke up with "Pakistan" stuck in my head.

Just. What. XD

Anyway. A meme seen in [livejournal.com profile] schwimmerin's LJ:

Ask me to take a picture of any aspect of my life that you're interested in - it can be anything from the house I live in to my favourite shoes. Leave your choice here as a comment, and I will reciprocate by taking the pictures and posting them as an LJ entry. Ask for as many as you want. That way you get to know a little bit about my life, if you're remotely interested in it.

Also, for those of you who understand Italian: I've written a few new entries in my Berlin blog lately, you can find them here if you're interested:

I created a Berlin blog here: http://ausberlin.wordpress.com

It's in Italian and mainly to let my friends know what's going on here, but if you can understand Italian you're welcome to read it as well. Or you can just look at the pictures. ;)

Not much to post about lately. I sent another application to Germany, but I got an automated reply saying the person in charge is out of office until the 16th, which is also the deadline to send in applications. Whatever.

I've been posting quite a lot in my Italian blog though:

Il polipetto sarcastico

The posts are mostly rants about various stuff that annoys me, nothing life changing, but I feel like I'm losing my ability to write in Italian, so I'll try to post there more often.

Aand... in less than four days I'll be in Berlin! YES! :D

*goes back to waste time on Neopets*

I was having a look at Kai Sehr's website (the guy who directed the "3-Tage Bart" video) and stumbled upon this ad:

http://www.kaisehr.com/uploads/work_bk_italian.italian.mov

All right, it's just an ad. All right, I make fun of all those "stereotypical Italian clichés" as well. But it's starting to annoy me. Also, I'd like to know something:

Dear non-Italians on my flist, what's the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of Italy? Be honest, please, I'm not going to get offended if your first thought is "mafia", "pizza", or "Berlusconi", I'm only curious.

And, speaking of Italy and Italian, I'm translating the lyrics of all the songs from "13" in Italian for a friend, and I'm having a lot of fun.

EDIT: Another video on Italian stereotypes, this one made me laugh so much I had tears in my eyes:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXUmxIqqn0Y

Unfortunately it's in Italian with Dutch subtitles, but the story is: family goes to an Italian restaurant, Italian waiters and cooks comment on the daughter's beauty and say unfortunately she's going to become just as ugly as her mother in a few years, everyone laughs, father gets annoyed and says (in Italian): "Hey, you spaghetti eater, if you're done chatting with your pals, can you bring us our food?"

I found that hilarious because it's SO TRUE. Generally speaking, Italians don't speak foreign languages, maybe they can speak some English, but that's it. Therefor, they think foreigners can't speak Italian, and feel free to comment on them. Very loudly. I say "they" and not "we" because I'm always very careful when I'm abroad, I don't want to end up in situations like that. XD

Be careful, fellow Italians, be careful...

After months of not being inspired, here's the latest entry I wrote in my Italian blog:

Tu quoque, Carolina?

I also found a couple of interesting writing and photography contests. And, by the way, two people I know (they're friends of a friend's) won a music contest! We used to play in their recording studio and my friend DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME, I had to go and find out by chance! Some punishment is in order.

They're called Serpenti and here's their MySpace page - the winning song is "Sinuoso Vortice":

http://www.myspace.com/serpentispace

Also, I'll be a sheep: ask me five (or less, or more) questions and I'll try to answer them. Just don't ask about my sex life, because at the time it is quite non-existent.

If you're still wondering why I sometimes feel ashamed of being Italian and why I've been thinking of moving abroad:

Something rotten in state of Italy

Source: http://www.bbc.co.uk

And the post I wrote on the subject in my Italian blog: Osteria Italia.

In short: yesterday Prodi (the current-almost-former Prime Minister) lost the vote of confidence at the Senate and all hell broke loose: a senator fainted, some were insulting each others and some were even drinking champagne to celebrate the fall of the Government.

Why can't Italy be a normal country? We've got so much potential, with tourism and art and fashion and design, why do our politicians have to ruin everything?
gothikmaus: (WHEE!)
Of course I forgot to link to my Italian blog entry yesterday. Here it is: Fascia pro-tetta

It's about women's roles and stereotypes, with some funny puns and lots of sarcasm as usual. :)

I didn't get much sleep last night, I went to bed around midnight and woke up 3 times, I bet I was already getting excited about the concerts. In little more than 6 hours I'll be on a train heading to good old Germany to see the slashiest band on earth, yay! :D

See you on Sunday night! Or Monday, it depends on my physical (and psychological) conditions. :)
gothikmaus: (Loverboy)
You think you're so irresistible, don't you, ending your email with "Kisses from my bed". Tsk, he's got to be the flirtiest bloke I've ever met. All right, I admit I had a nice mental image after reading that, but that doesn't mean anything, it's just some innocent online flirting. ;)

Speaking of flirty blokes, a conversation I overheard today:

Two men need to book a hotel room for a business trip to Rome.

Man A: "Is a double room OK?"

Man B: "Yes, we can share. Well, maybe two separate beds will be better, I don't want to be tempted..."

*shakes head* Am I surrounded by gay men or what?

And I posted another entry in my Italian blog yesterday: Avanti, Savoia!

EDIT: F*ck, I still need to draw an interest doodle! I almost forgot, sorry! I've been so busy these days, I don't even have time to study the new songs, I just collapse in bed around 10 PM.
gothikmaus: (Love kills)
Quote of the day:

Man A *pesters Man B*
Man B "Stop it or I won't mount your exhibition!"
Man A ""Who cares, I just want to mount..." *glomps*

How can I stay serious in a place like this?

The Italian female volley team is world champion! :D I wrote an entry about it in my Italian blog: Pallavolo, mon amour.

After watching the first part of MTV Masters last night I got an idea for a drabble and since I wasn't terribly busy this morning, I wrote it. I love angst.

For those of you who might be interested, I created an Italian blog:

http://polipetto.wordpress.com

I wanted to open it here on LJ at first, but since two friends of mine have Wordpress accounts I decided to get one too. I'll probably update it twice a year anyway.

EDIT: For those who want to read it:

La legge è uguale per tutti? )

Last night I watched MTV Masters while waiting for the last episode of Heroes and I almost fell from my chair when Farin said "Il sapore di amore" to introduce some show. I laughed for 20 minutes straight, I just couldn't stop. And the face he made when he said that... XD

Only 2 weeks till the concerts! :D

Damn, it's Sara's birthday! I've already bought her present, but I almost forgot to send her my wishes.
