Fanart, Fanfiction and Fangirling

The last couple of weeks have been a rollercoster of nostalgia and emotions. First the Bluvertigo concert on the 14th: they were my favourite Italian band when I was a teenager but then split up and the most recent "reunion concerts" a few years ago weren't that great, mostly because of the frontman, who is a huge diva. But this concert was amazing, everyone was in top form and the frontman even apologised for everything he did to the other band members over the years. They are going on tour soon and will be playing another concert here in September; I'm veeery tempted to get a ticket for that show too.

Then Die Ärzte announced a tour for next year! The tickets went on sale the day after the Bluvertigo concert and I miraculously managed to get one. It's for Erfurt, which is kinda in the middle of nowhere, but the date works and it was the only one I could get. The Berlin tickets vanished within seconds and all the other weekend dates were sold out immediately too. Maybe someone will have extra tickets to sell closer to the actual dates, but for now I'm just happy I could get one. I feel like I survived the Hunger Games! XD

Yesterday I went to the annual Depeche Mode Party with some friends and saw Mode Inside, a Depeche Mode cover band I've seen a few times before and that I really like.

But yesterday was also Farin Urlaub day, as he released a new single! Just like that. What an unexpected treat. It's already become my own personal Ohrwurm des Jahres and it's perfect for Italy's Liberation Day too.

Last weekend was amazing. On Saturday night I saw Easy Cure (The Cure cover band) and Mode Inside (Depeche Mode cover band). I've seen Easy Cure many many times, so I knew they'd put up a great show, but I didn't know Mode Inside. Well, they're brilliant. The singer's got a beautiful, deep voice and he's quite easy on the eye. ;)

And on Sunday night I went to a Duran Duran concert! Again, I didn't quite know what to expect: of course I know most of their hits, but I'd never seen them live before. Well, it was the best concert I've seen in a while. They even played Space Oddity by David Bowie! It was a Planet Earth / Space Oddity medley, followed by Ordinary World. I was actually close to tears, as both Space Oddity and Ordinary World are two of my all time favourite songs. T_T

And I suddenly remembered that my natural habitat is right in front of a stage. XD
