DÄ fanart! And Japanese question
Feb. 6th, 2008 11:38 amAll right, I think I can post this now. There was a competition on the DÄ fanclub site, you had to write "die ärzte" in Japanese, as in, using katakana. The winners get a "Poptastic Conversation" CD, the compilation which also features "Rettet die Wale" in Japanese. Being the otaku I am, I thought "I'm SO doing it." Then I thought "Why just the name? I could add a ittle Japan-related drawing as well..." And then I got a bit carried away.
The winners haven't been announced yet, but the deadline was the 3rd February and I really want to show off my picture, so here it is.
By the way, if I wanted to say "the best band in the world" in Japanese, would
世界で最高のバンド (Sekai sairyoo no bando) be correct? I translated it using Google but I'm not so sure about it. Man, where's my Japanese grammar book when I need it? D:

Farinsan wa sugoi desu
Jan. 26th, 2008 06:01 pmWhy is it that whenever I can't go out on a Saturday night, all my friends call me and suggest a dozen things to do? =/
Also, I had completely forgotten the Visions DVD with Farin's interview on it, until I found out he speaks Japanese in it. So I watched it straight away. I understood half of what he was saying. How can he speak so many languages? I hate him. T_T
Almost done with my final paper and colouring that DÄ drawing. Still coughing my lungs out. Still job hunting.
My life's so exciting.

Nihon ga daisuki desu!
Nov. 7th, 2007 11:44 amA friend of mine, who has a blog about Chinese contemporary art, recently wrote an entry about "Orient-oriented" music videos in her personal blog. She listed Farin's "Sonne" too (hehe, I'm promoting him in Italy) and since it had been a while since I had last watched the video, I had a look at it.
Well, I have to say I had forgotten how hot Farin looks in that video. Maybe it's because I love Japan, maybe it's because I usually prefer dark-haired blokes, but damn.
She also posted a link to "Cieli neri" by Bluvertigo, a video I love with all my heart. Oh God, I was 18 when the song came out!
All this talking about Japan reminds me that tomorrow I'll have my last Japanese lesson, for the time being anyway. And it will be the last time I'll see a certain goth guy. Oh, well.
Also, just because I straightened my fringe today (it looked hideous this morning) everyone is making allusive comments. What? I simply straightened my fringe, there's no hidden, super-secret, boys-related reason behind it. Sheesh.

Nihongo o benkyo- shiteimasu!
Feb. 18th, 2007 03:53 pmAs the title of this entry says, I've finally started studying Japanese! :D I'm doing a conversation course, at the moment we're just learning sentences like "Hi, my name is...", "How old are you?" "I'm ... years old", very simple stuff, but I'm so excited! Sugoi desu ne! :D (Which means: "So cool!" ^_^)
I'm not often online these days, I started the master's last Monday and would use the uni lab, but they haven't activated my account yet, so I'm stuck with my slow dial-up connection at home. Also, I was about to strangle the prof when she said "If you listen to a violin in real life and try to record it, the sound you get is different, but with amplified instruments (electric guitars, basses etc) the recorded sound is identical to the real sound, so if you go to a pop concert the sound is the same as the one on the CD." WHAT??? :O
Talking about the internet, I don't have a site at the moment, my old one got deleted along with all the other sites hosted at arithmancy.net (RIP), I have some free webspace I could use, but I'm thinking of buying a domain and creating a portal for all my stuff, such as the DoitComics project, the Los Helmstedt comics and, of course, my fanfiction and fanart. And eventually adding other little projects if I have the time and energy to do them. It will take some time getting it all back online, but hopefully I'll make it, I've already found a hosting service and decided the domain name, I just need to actually buy it.
I want to play "Du willst mich küssen" and "Erna P." because, damn, the bass lines of those two songs are just brilliant. *goes to tune bass*
But before I go, a little eye-candy. Oh, Bela...
( Oh, Bela... )

Oh, and happy Carnival everyone. *throws confetti in the air*
