Well, today wasn't completely wasted: I did one Christmas card (oh God, still five to go) and finished the Los Helmstedt cartoon that I sketched days ago:

http://www.doitcomics.net/loshelmstedt/bbylh017.html

Hehehe. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] darth_funk for the suggestions.

Tomorrow a few friends are coming over and we're making a banner for the first concert of some friends of ours. Go listen to them! Deluded by lesbians @ MySpace! GO!

I should work on more Christmas cards, but I will probably go to sleep. Meh. Thank God tomorrow's a holiday.

EDIT: OMFG BELA!!!

Fangirl mode: ON )
gothikmaus: (D'oh!)
I hope I won't ruin this completely when I ink it.

Clic and guess who he is )

Yes, I know his legs are too short, but I'm not going to redraw them, it took me forever to draw semi-decent folds. HE'S A SHORTY, ANYWAY. *hides*

For all the people who went "OMGWTF how could youuu?! >_<" after reading the latest chapter of Ameise's fic: this will hopefully make you smile a little.

BBYLH cartoon: Ausziehen!

Please, Ameise, don't make us suffer too much. Please. T_T
gothikmaus: (WHEE!)
OMG, I'm probably the last person on earth to know this, but I've been looking for this comic book FOREVER! It's not the whole thing, but OHMYGOD! *fangirly orgasm*

A-hem.

Stefano finally booked the flight to Hamburg. If he had booked it when I first told him to, about 2 months ago, we would have paid only 99€ but, oh well. Farin, I hope you'll play a brilliant concert, or I'll get really bitchy about it.

Watching Wayne's interview before going to sleep last night caused me to have one of the most absurd dreams ever: I was at home and, for some reason, the next day Bela would be in my hometown for an interview with Lee Hazelwood (WTF?) that would take place right in front of my uncle's home (WTF???) around 10 AM, and I thought "That's perfect, I'm always there around that time!" Because, for some reason, in my dream I was working there. The next morning I woke up terribly late (TYPICAL!) and when I arrived, everyone had already gone and I was desperate, because HOW COULD I HAVE MISSED BELA IN MY HOMETOWN. Someone told me they had sold some tickets for their concert (Bela playing a concert with Lee Hazelwood in my hometown???) and then went away.

I was so depressed I wanted to kill myself, but my aunt saw me (not the aunt who actually lives there, God, this dream was really fucked up) and told me she had something to show me. While we were talking I saw someone in the big parking place down the road and thought "That totally looks like Bela!" Then I saw a lorry parked there with Wayne and Lula standing in front of it and I thought "OMG I have to go and say hello!" At that point I realised I was wearing my pyjamas (WTF???) and my jeans were right next to the lorry! So I would have to pass in front of them, wearing my pyjamas, if I wanted to get dressed. I tried to sneak past it, but of course Wayne spotted me and started chatting in English and I couldn't understand a word, so I just walked to where my jeans were and was like "Uhm, yeah, I'll be right back." Meanwhile Bela had seen me too (and I was still wearing just my pyjamas, God, I wanted to die) and, for some weird reason, the place turned into a big open-space office and the creepy guy from work was there (someone kill me), complaining because I was awfully late.

I think I can sum it all up with a nice WTF?

And because I have nothing to do, a meme.

Concert meme! )

Yeah, I know I should upload the pictures from Berlin and write an actual entry about the concerts, but the comic-muse paid me a visit...

http://www.doitcomics.net/loshelmstedt/bbylh015.html

I'm so mean. ^_^

And a song meme.

1. Reply to this post and I'll assign you a letter.
2. List (and upload, if you feel like it) 5 songs that start with that letter.
3. Post them to your journal with these instructions.

[livejournal.com profile] schwimmerin gave me the letter G. I have to say I couldn't come up with anything at first and had to browse through my music folder and then I was like "D'oh! Of course!" I must be getting old...

- "God save the queen", The Sex Pistols: I love punk, not just as a music genre, but as a social phenomenon, I even wrote part of my degree thesis on it. I know The Sex Pistols were just puppets in the hands of Malcom McLaren (and Vivienne Westwood built her fortune around them), but this song has some of my all-time favourite lyrics:

When there's no future how can there be sin
We're the flowers in the dustbin
We're the poison in your human machine
We're the future, your future

- "Girls and boys", Blur: this song is really fun to sing, because remembering the lyrics is quite a challenge. And it reminds me of the golden age of Britpop, when music magazines were full of Blur vs Oasis crap and I dreamed of moving to the UK.

- "(Get) Into the groove", Madonna: one of my favourite '80s songs, it always makes me wanna dance. And the video is so cheesy, I've never watched "Desperately Seeking Susan" (well, maybe I did, but I was too young to remember) but every time I see that video, I think "Man, I need to watch this film!" XD

- "Glorious", Wayne Jackson: I really like the music and the mood this song creates. Even if Bela's "Ausdruckstanz" sort of killed it... XD

- "Geisterhaus", Die Ärzte: One of my favourite DÄ songs and, in my opinion, one of the best written by Rod, the guitar part is great.

Bonus

- "Gitarre runter", Bela B: I had totally forgotten about this song! D: It's actually my favourite track on "Bingo" and it always reminds me of Bela's concerts, because it's the first song they played after the intro. *sigh*

- "Great balls of fire", Jerry Lee Lewis: I watched the film on Jerry Lee Lewis's life when I was about 13 and he instantly became one of my heroes. I was so pissed off at how he was treated, one day he was a star and the day after everyone hated him. He made mistakes and paid for them, but his music is still damn cool.

Just a short update to post my new Los Helmstedt cartoon:

http://www.doitcomics.net/loshelmstedt/bbylh014.html

It didn't turn out exactly like I wanted, but I like it anyway.

There is something else I'd like to write about but it's quite complicated, maybe I'll post another entry later. Locked though, definitely locked.

I meant to take part in the big LJ strike of doom yesterday, but then forgot and wrote a couple of comments. Oops. Not that a strike like that counts much, anywyay.

Job interview went quite well, I should have an answer next week. Sigh.

And I know it's not Easter yet, but I've just uploaded my latest Los Helmstedt cartoon and I want to share it with my flist:

Frohe Ostern! )

Don't ask me where I get ideas from because I honestly don't know. XD

The guestbook is back up by the way, hoping it won't get floaded with spam this time. If you want to drop me a line... :)

What to do now? Go for a walk or take a nap? Decisions, decisions...
gothikmaus: (Tee-hee)
HAHA, I had such a great dream last night, DÄ were playing a concert in my bedroom! Well, it was bigger than my actual bedroom and with no furniture in it, but still. It was a small show for just a few fans and Almut was there too, she was sitting by the side of the stage while I was standing in front of Farin. There wasn't even a real stage, just a "performance area", so to speak. At one point Farin walked up to where I was and sang something to a girl who was standing to my left. The song was in Italian and he sang it with a low, almost whispered voice. He was standing so close he was practically singing in my ear. I was pretty much petrified. When he walked back to the others the girl looked at me and asked something like "Does Farin always have this effect on you?" Because I must have had the most shocked expression ever. Also, it is clear I have a huge (and quite ridiculous) "Farin speaking Italian" fetish. ^_^

As for the comic strip I posted yesterday, I managed to fix the word balloons, so now the blue lines are gone, and found a way to add umlats. I want to try and redo the whole thing with Photoshop though, so I can save the file with a higher resolution. I've created new patterns, brushes and balloon shapes and downloaded some screentone patterns as well, I just need to put everything together. If I manage to use Photoshop properly for this, my comics will look so much better. Even though nothing will ever beat Manga Studio's panel-creating tool.

And just so you know, I've just had a piece of chocolate cake. Yum.

I've finally got my arse in gear and drew a cartoon about my band. It's in Italian but you may find it funny, so here it is. That's what typically happens when we practice. Damn guitarists...

Picture #1: "OK, let's go. 1, 2..."

Picture #2: "I'm going to kill him!"

Cartoon under the cut )

I also wanted to post a somewhat personal entry, but... I don't know, maybe I will later. And if I do, it will be locked.
