Yeah, I know I should upload the pictures from Berlin and write an actual entry about the concerts, but the comic-muse paid me a visit...

I'm so mean. ^_^
And a song meme.

2. List (and upload, if you feel like it) 5 songs that start with that letter.
3. Post them to your journal with these instructions.
schwimmerin gave me the letter G. I have to say I couldn't come up with anything at first and had to browse through my music folder and then I was like "D'oh! Of course!" I must be getting old...
- "God save the queen", The Sex Pistols: I love punk, not just as a music genre, but as a social phenomenon, I even wrote part of my degree thesis on it. I know The Sex Pistols were just puppets in the hands of Malcom McLaren (and Vivienne Westwood built her fortune around them), but this song has some of my all-time favourite lyrics:
When there's no future how can there be sin
We're the flowers in the dustbin
We're the poison in your human machine
We're the future, your future
- "Girls and boys", Blur: this song is really fun to sing, because remembering the lyrics is quite a challenge. And it reminds me of the golden age of Britpop, when music magazines were full of Blur vs Oasis crap and I dreamed of moving to the UK.
- "(Get) Into the groove", Madonna: one of my favourite '80s songs, it always makes me wanna dance. And the video is so cheesy, I've never watched "Desperately Seeking Susan" (well, maybe I did, but I was too young to remember) but every time I see that video, I think "Man, I need to watch this film!" XD
- "Glorious", Wayne Jackson: I really like the music and the mood this song creates. Even if Bela's "Ausdruckstanz" sort of killed it... XD
- "Geisterhaus", Die Ärzte: One of my favourite DÄ songs and, in my opinion, one of the best written by Rod, the guitar part is great.
Bonus
- "Gitarre runter", Bela B: I had totally forgotten about this song! D: It's actually my favourite track on "Bingo" and it always reminds me of Bela's concerts, because it's the first song they played after the intro. *sigh*
- "Great balls of fire", Jerry Lee Lewis: I watched the film on Jerry Lee Lewis's life when I was about 13 and he instantly became one of my heroes. I was so pissed off at how he was treated, one day he was a star and the day after everyone hated him. He made mistakes and paid for them, but his music is still damn cool.
