Things I did today:

- wasted time watching random David Tennant videos on YouTube;

- looked up standard Italian pronunciation and found out my vowels are all wrong (seriously, I know I have a pretty strong Milan accent, and no one speaks standard Italian anyway, but it was still quite a shock. I'm not going to start talking "correctly" though, that would just sound stupid);

- wrote some Sherlock/John;

- coloured the Holmes/Watson drawing. There are still some parts I'd like to touch up (Watson's head WTF), but I've been at it for so long I'm starting to hate it, so I'll just post it as it is. I really like Holmes's expression, he's so angsty. <3

I've tried not to be too much of a Sherlock fangirl, I swear I have. But, bloody hell:



I've even started writing fic, for God's sake. I'm not planning on finishing any time soon though...

The Holmes/Watson picture is done at last! It took me forever to colour it, but I've learned a few tricks on the way, hopefully I'll be a little faster in the future. As usual, I was too lazy to draw a proper background, but we all love curtains, don't we? ;)

So, I finally got around to drawing Holmes/Watson this morning and I'm very happy with the picture. But now I don't want to ink it, because I'm fucking scared I'm going to ruin it completely. D:

Mmh, the folds on Watson's trousers are completely wrong, I must fix them. And the ones on Holmes' left leg too. D:

I could try and ink it in Photoshop, but not now, I need a break. @_@

I've watched so much Holmes in the last week that I dreamed in English last night. o_O

I was looking for fanart yesterday and when I saw this picture I burst out laughing: that's exactly what happened the last time I was in Chester to visit some friends. I was with an Italian friend of mine and when we went out one evening I was wearing a leather jacket and had an umbrella in my bag, while she was wearing a very light summer jacket and claimed it was never going to rain. I simply told her "Never trust the English weather." Needless to say, it started pouring within a couple of hours.

Another friend is organising a trip to London for September and if the job-hunt doesn't get in the way I'll go too, I haven't been there for 5 years. Also, just out of curiosity, I looked up the England and Germany version of the "You know you're from xxx when..." The Germany one was quite dull, but the England one was more interesting, so I did it just for fun.

Oh, I'm having way too much fun doodling Holmes (and making random Holmesian icons) these days:



I did this as an experiment and I have to say I quite like the result. I drew it white on black and then tried to make a negative of the image to see how a "normal" version would look like, but I don't like it at all, I prefer the blackboard look.

I also went to the swimming pool and swam 25 lengths (1250 m) in 45 minutes, I was full of energy despite only having fruit salad for lunch. The new fandom apparently gives me a lot of strength...

I survived my trip to Switzerland without falling off a waterfall, even though I found myself in the middle of what looked like a tropical storm in the middle of the Alps. It rained so much there was water bubbling out of manholes, they looked like fountains. It figures it doesn't rain for weeks and then it starts pouring as soon as I spend a few hours outside. ¬_¬

The job offer was very interesting, but I'll probably have to wait until after the summer holidays, there's nothing defined yet. The woman to whom I talked said she'll contact me as soon as she knows something.

Also, last night I drew a quick sketch with my tablet. I usually draw on paper, scan the picture and use the tablet to colour, but I wanted to try drawing directly in Photoshop. Guess who I chose as model.

I cheated and used a photo as reference, but it's not too bad considering it was the first time I've done something like this.

And as I was coming back I realised I would totally see Adrien Brody as a young Sherlock Holmes. I can't be the only one, right?

And, thanks to Sherlock Holmes, I now know the word "pub" comes from "public house". Why, yes, I love discovering such trivial little things.
