Uhm, I don't know what happened, but I've kinda been sucked into the bottomless pit of the Sherlock Holmes fandom. >_> I've only watched 4 episodes so far (2 from the Russian series and 2 from the Granada one) and, damn, they're good. <_< Jeremy Brett is brilliant and hilarious when he acts like an excited, hyper little boy. Also, there's so much fanart I could cry. *_*

Anyway. Going to Switzerland tomorrow. I hope things work out, I can't wait to get out of here.

As for episodes, start the Russian with Red and White (it's the one), though they are all good. You can kind of come into the Granada at any point, although the first few episodes (before Brett became ill D:) are the best.

Bugger, forgot to say that that author writes canonical pieces, so it might be best to read a little of the canon that the pieces are based around or at least look up synopsis for them D:

it's fun to watch and Jude Law makes an AMAZING watson (other than the fact that he basically hates Holmes, but Holmes in this sucks so much and is so annoying that I hardly blame him) but Holmes is so lacking that it kinda ruins it. Plus they added in as many lady parts as possible which was so freakin unnecessary. And SH Canon is really weird and ill defined as it is, there is so much you can do, and they still made it..unrealistic w/r/t Sherlock Holmes. so. meh.

Oh! Also, if you enjoy listening to radio plays, the MOST GAY ONE EVER is The Lion's Mane which I have uploaded here.

Super gay episodes of the Granada show..well, considering Mary never really becomes a thing in the series, they're all very homoerotic. XD But. I suggest The Resident Patient, The Red Headed League, The Blue Carbuncle, The Solitary Cyclist, The Musgrave Ritual, The Priory School, and the Six Napoleons, all of which are seasons 1-3. There are more good ones in the later seasons, but Brett is getting sicker & less amazingly hot & athletic as time goes on. XD Season 4 has some good ones including The Devil's Foot, which has some serious doctor!Watson and impudent patient!Holmes as well as total H/W text (no subtext necessary). And The Bruce Partington Plans have Mycroft in them and everybody loves Holmes's brother. XD

I've just watched it! I was laughing so hard at the beginning when Pietro shouts "Puttana!" ("whore") at his sister over and over. XD Sadly, many Italian men are still like that. -__- The Italian dialogues were perfect, though. :)

Also, do you know if mafia was mentioned in the book too? I mean, of course it already existed at the time, but it would be kinda sad to find it in a Sherlock Holmes novel, it would mean it was already "famous" (or rather infamous) back then.

I also laughed at Holmes speaking Italian, he's got such a strong accent. XD

Yeah I don't speak a word and I could tell his accent was attrocious, lol. Umm, I'm not sure about the mafia... When I read the story I could tell you, but curiousfunk prolly knows. ACD was pretty good about knowing about random stuff that was going on at the time, esp evidenced by the Study in Scarlet with the whole mormon thing. XD
