gothikmaus: (Luca e Paolo)

I had been waiting for this moment for years: Luca & Paolo (see my icon) kissing. And tonight they finally did it. And for a good cause too, it was to protest against a homophobic comment made by one of our stupid politicians. Oh, I love them. T_T

EDIT: Found a picture of it!

Anyway. I can't believe I haven't written about the DÄ concert yet. Well, that's not true, I did write a post about it, in my Italian blog.

The gig itself was quite exhausting, they played a very punk setlist with only a couple of slower songs ("Omaboy", "Die traurige Ballade von Susi Spakowski", "Geld") and I was standing right in the middle of the pogo. I arrived at the club around 6:15 pm, but I still got a brilliant spot in the second row. The stage was quite small and only when the concert started I realised my position was a bit too central (I usually tend to stay to the side as it's quieter), but I had a lot of fun anyway. I only took 3 photos then I gave up and just enjoyed the show.

They didn't chat as much as they usually do (the concert was "only" 2 hours, not the usual 3 hours), but at one point they started to ramble about something and I pretty much lost track of what they were saying. The inside joke of the night was, of course, the Zwickau gig.

Farin said something about them being like a family and the concert being like a big reunion or something. At that Bela started calling him "Schatz". Later Farin called Bela "Schatz" as well, and Bela commented "Ah, jetzt bist du höflich". XD Oh, how I'd missed them.

I didn't hang about for long after the concert, just enough to drink the most disgusting ice-tea I've ever drunk (mint-flavoured, it was like drinking chewing gum) and rest my poor, abused feet a bit. Luckily the hostel was quite close to the venue. Also, the security blocked the street I had come from, so we had to make a detour to go back into town. I suspect it was to prevent residents' complaints about the noise. And it wasn't even 11 pm! Tsk, Switzerland.

I had time to visit Solothurn the day of the concert and the next day (Easter), it's really a lovely little town. But the Swiss accent will kill me. But more than that, Schwyzerdütsch will kill me. I always had to say "Wie bitte?" so that people would speak German, it was quite frustrating. But I ate the best bread ever at breakfast at the hostel, so I'm not complaining too much.

And now I'd better go to sleep, I have to go to work in the morning. Gute Nacht!

MINT ICE TEA? WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?! I bet it tasted like over-chewed gum ;A; At least when you first have some gum it's okay. Five minutes later? EWW.

Oh man, I'm so jealous! This must be their first gig together since... *has no idea* Too long anyway.

I didn't know it was mint-flavoured! D: I just needed something to drink and saw ice tea bottles in the fridge on the other side of the bar. It was either that, coke or beer, so I thought I'd go with ice tea. I mean, usually it's either lemon or peach, I had now idea mint ice tea even existed! D:

It was their 4th gig, they're only playing 8 shows this time around. I think their last concert before that was the one in Montreaux 2 years ago. And I was there too! It was one of the craziest experiences of my life. XD

Yeah, Montreux must have been the BEST concert in the 2000s by DÄ, I still burst into giggles when I watch the Youtube-Clips (thanks Bullenstaat!) ;D
I'm glad you enjoyed DÄ... I was sooo happy seeing them again, I cried a little in Berlin (when they were Bonaparte-opener). We'll never talk about Zwickau again (please), but Pahlen was awesome as well!

That DÄ gig was just what I needed, I hadn't taken a trip somewhere for far too long. And it was such a lucky coincidence that the concert in Switzerland was on a Saturday, it was fate, I tell you! ;)

Well, if you feel like another trip, you're always welcome in Berlin. Even if DÄ are not playing. ;)

And yeah, DÄ were very considerate with their tour. To me as well, having just come back from the Philys and all. No coincidences, they just sync their tour with their most desperate fans' needs. Or something. ;)
