Berlin memories + Farin mail

Tomorrow is my last day in this office and I still don't know where I'm supposed to work starting from next Monday. Oh, I love my job. :P But my colleagues told me they're taking me out for a drink tomorrow night. Aww. ♥

Anyway, some random memories from Berlin:

♥ The place where I was staying was full of Swiss people from the French and Italian cantons.

♥ I will never be able to eat a whole falafel in one sitting. I have no problems with döners, but I can never finish a falafel.

♥ I lost 2 Kg in 2 weeks. Which became 3 Kg after my trip to München. I tend to forget to eat when I'm on holiday. :P

♥ And while we're talking about food, apparently I ate the best currywurst in Berlin.

♥ I ran into the bassist from the Bloodhound Gang on my last day in Berlin. I saw him at the Hackesche Höfe (on a bike), at first I thought it couldn't be him, but then I saw him again at Bela's concert in München and found out he actually lives in Berlin. Hah.

♥ I went to Sound & Drumland in the KulturBrauerei one day, in the guitar and bass section there was "Die Band, die sie Pferd nannten" playing and one of the clerks was singing along to every song while tidying up and looking very happy about it. :)

♥ There was an article on Sylt on the AirBerlin magazine I found on the plane, with a quote from "Westerland" in it. And an article on Bela on the DB magazine I found on the train to München.

♥ I actually drank beer. But only once. :P

♥ German + very strong American accent = weird.

♥ Bela's eyes = ♥♥♥♥♥


There's much more, but it's all written in my "holiday journal", which is at home. Also, the thought of Bela hugging me always makes me grin like the biggest idiot on earth. X)

And talking about idiots, I wrote an email to Farin a few days ago:

Subject: Oho, der Meister ist zurück

Hallo Mr U! Schön, dass du wieder da bist, wie war der Urlaub?

Ich freue mich schon auf deine Herbsttour, ich hab einige Konzerte deines Kollegen gesehen und hoffe, dass FURT genauso wie Los Helmstedt rockt. Ich fliege von Mailand nach Düsseldorf, um dein Konzert zu sehen (und reiße einen Freund mit), so it had better be good! ;)

Ehm, there wasn't an "inside", there were just a few tables outside. It's a kiosk at the U-Bahn station of Eberwalderstraße, in Prenzlauerberg.

Believe me, you're so lucky to have been there =) I really regret to have not been able to go to Berlin, not even for Bela, just because I so badly want to discover the city. There's so much people who kept me telling it's awesome, the best city ever, and so on. *sighs* I don't mention the fact we could've met, because if everything goes fine, we're going to meet in 44 days =)

At least, I'm very happy you had such awesome holidays! As my English (and German too - lack of practise) is getting worse and worse, I'll just say it in French : je suis convaincue que tu as su profiter de chaque instant =))

Everything WILL go fine! Wow, you're already counting the days left till the concert? ;) (I won't mention I cirled the 11th November on my calendar, lalala... :P)

Seriously, I hope you'll be able to go to Berlin one day because it IS awesome. And apropos French, I met a few people from the French part of Switzerland and got used to hearing German with a French accent (I was already used to English with a French accent), so I think we won't have communication problems in November. ;)

Of course I will! I will! I will! XD I just don't know when, but I will =) (And anyway, if I'm successful in my studies, I'll have to spend 3 or 6 months in the country I've chosen the language - which will be either Belarus (Minsk), either Germany (??), so I don't worry about spending some time in Germany =))

Well, just after I came back from Poland, I was like "Hey!! There's ONLY two months left!" XD So now I'm counting ;)

Ehm, I'll try to learn some Italian...Actually, in my flat there are at least 4 Belgians who have Italians origins (AND who keep teasing us Frenchs foreigners with Zidane and Materazzi...grrrrrrrr XD), I should ask them once to teach me Italian instead of Belgian expressions XD

Hey, I can only understand a little bit of French. And I can't speak it at all. :P But if you want to learn Italian: buona fortuna. ^__^

I haven't booked a hotel either, I'll meet the friend who's coming with me on Sunday and we'll discuss it. And now I'm tempted to go to the New Year's concert too, but I'll be working in a new place from next week, so I can't plan anything long-term just yet. Damn. =/

I haven't even booked my train ticket actually. I should do it soon, and hopefully it won't cost 140€ for going and coming back =/ I even wonder if I won't take my train in Brussels, it has no sense to come back to Lille and from there taking the train... And I have to take a look for the hotel online, because I don't feel like coming back home just after the gig (and, well, I'd like AT LEAST visit a little bit of Düsseldorf =P)
