(no subject)
Jun. 13th, 2003 06:51 pm1:30 pm. I'm having lunch in the kitchen. The tv is on. At one point the trailer of a film starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon comes on. There's something about Ben Afflec's outfit, I've seen it before. Somewhere. And isn't that... Kevin Smith?
Dogma.
Out on June 27th.

WHAT???
So that's the reason why I couldn't find a VHS/DVD of that film anywhere? The Italian version hasn't been released yet? I had already given up on finding it in Italy, but since perhaps I'll go back in the US next winter I was hoping I could find it there, I'd only have to be patient. It seems I won't have to wait so long instead. I'll go see it after my last exam on July 3rd.
And then I'll buy Order of the Phoenix. I don't care if I have to go hunting after it in each and every bookshop that sells foreign books in Milan (the Italian version isn't ready yet and won't be released for another few months). I. Must. Have. It.
+++++
Today I also found out that an article I wrote 4 years ago is on a website. I wrote it as part of a longer project with two classmates of mine for our final exam and one of the teachers liked it so much that he asked us if he could publish it on a small local magazine he contributed to. We agreed and he even sent us a copy of the magazine, but I didn't know they had a website too. So when I found the page today I was a bit shocked - but in a good way. ^_^
The article's here.
It's in Italian and about immigration in Italy. If I had to write something on the same subject today I'd do it in a different (finer?) way, but I've been studying Sociology for 4 years. I guess it wasn't too bad for a 19-year-old student.
The whole project was about colonialism, the title was "From colonialism to multiethnic society", I wrote half of it and another girl the other half. The guy who was supposed to work with us was a total slacker, we had to do all his work. He only wrote a page on Ireland and we had to rewrite it, because he had written it in Italian, while that part had to be written in English.
But it was a nice experience and the results were pretty good. I got to work on the graphics and even added a part on Japanese art as well. I can be quite manipulative if I want to. ^_^
