Barcelona report
Aug. 23rd, 2005 12:56 pmBack from Barcelona. I had fun, but things could have been better.
Positive/funny things:
- Barcellona is a very nice city and Gaudi's buildings are amazing
- Spanish is very similar to Italian, so even if people couldn't speak English we could speak Italian and they understood us ^__^
- my German friend told me that when I speak in German I don't sound Italian, but Russian or French o_O
- The food was quite cheap. Not as cheap as in Berlin, but way cheaper than in Milan :P
- I found the sequel to Suehiro Maruo's manga "The laughing vampire"!!! I didn't even know it existed! It's in Spanish but I can understand most of it ^___^
- I bought NIN's "With teeth". I hadn't bought it in Milan because it was too expensive and I was a bit broke at the time, but it was at a special price at the Fnac in Barcelona so I got it there
- I got a very nice shirt with and angel/devil drawing and "Sometimes angel, sometimes devil, but it's always me" written (in Spanish) on the front ^__^
- We learned poi/kiwido!
- We saw The Fantastic 4 at the cinema (in Spanish) and we started calling ourselves Los 4 Fantasticos. I was Miss Fantastic :)
Negative/unfunny things:
- The streets smelt of piss/sewer :/
- We found the flat dirty
- There was a big, red cockroach in the bathroom :O
- The weather was quite bad. We had about 5 sunny days in 2 weeks. :/ It was usually cloudy and windy and it often rained in the evening. It looked more like England than Spain
- There was an overbooking on the flight back and we couldn't leave in the 21st. >:O But we got a free night in a 4-star hotel with dinner and breakfast and a 250 euro refound, so it wasn't so bad in the end. It's still annoying though, why the hell do they sell more tickets than the number of available seats? I know that, statistically, there's always a certain number of people that miss or cancel their flight, but usually not in summer. Not when you have to leave on that day because you have to work the next day. Bah. If Alitalia has to pay so much for its overbooked flights, it's no surprise it has so many debts.
Mmh, I can't think of anything else at the moment. I'll probably post some pictures in the next few days.
