End of year memes 2025
Dec. 29th, 2025 10:32 pm2025 is almost over, so here are the usual end of year memes, both fannish and not.
FANFICTION OVERVIEW 2025
Total number of fanfics: 5
Fandom breakdown:
CSI: 4
Lupin III: 1
Word count: 18,097
I finally finished the Nick/Greg fic I had been working on for years, which I consider my biggest accomplishment of 2025. That, and the Nick/Greg advent calendar. The others were just ficlets, but I'm not complaining at all: the important thing is that I keep writing.
FANART OVERVIEW 2025
Total number of pieces of fanart: 15 + 5 original pieces and some sketches
Fandom breakdown:
Lupin III: 4
Good Omens: 3
CSI: 2
Sailor Moon: 2
Versailles no bara: 1
Die Ärzte: 1
Ai shite knight: 1
Our flag means death: 1
Original works:
Japanese folklore: 2
Watercolour Christmas cards: 3
Overall Thoughts:
I kept my New Year's resolution and drew at least one thing each month. I could have done more (some months I only came up with a quick sketch), but having a clear, doable goal helped a lot. I also started playing around with watercolours, which is something I've never really done before, and I'd like to continue.
Looking back, did you draw more fanart than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
More. I deliberately set a low-pressure goal for 2025 (one drawing each month), but I tend to get lazy, so I wasn't sure I could even do that.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you draw that you would never have predicted in January?
I hadn't planned to draw Sailor Moon fanart, but I'd wanted to draw Sailor Mars for a while, so that wasn't a total surprise. I also never predicted I would start experimenting with watercolours.
What's your own favourite piece of fanart of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
This Rose of Versailles redraw. I didn't think I could do it justice, but I liked the final result.
Do you have any fanart or prolific goals for the New Year?
Since it worked for 2025, I'll stick to "let's draw at least one thing each month" for 2026 as well.
From my past year of fanart, what was...
My best piece of fanart this year:
The Rose of Versailles redraw.
My most popular piece of fanart of this year:
Year of the snake - Good Omens edition
Fanart of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
I don't know, most of my fanart gets just a handful of likes/reblogs. I would've liked if the Rose of Versailles redraw had got a little more love, but it's not a popular fandom.
Most fun piece of fanart to draw:
This Lupin III pic. Because I love drawing silly expressions.
Piece of fanart with the single sexiest moment:
I didn't draw anything sexy this year. Maybe this CSI pic, if you squint really, really hard.
Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" piece of fanart:
I didn't draw anything crazy. But this duck!Izzy Hands was quite silly.
Hardest piece of fanart to draw:
This Con O'Neill sketch. I gave up trying to draw his face and just left it unfinished, it just wouldn't cooperate.
Biggest Surprise:
This Good Omens drawing. I quite like how it turned out.
In conclusion:
Having a clear goal instead of a generic "I want to draw more" really helps.
