This is an easy one: I'd love to see how things are going for Nick in San Diego after he leaves Las Vegas at the end of Season 15. I'm very sorry he didn't appear in the last double episode of CSI, because the premise was right there: Grissom was in San Diego when he was called back to Las Vegas, and Sara went after him at the end of the episode. And knowing that Sara and Nick were good friends, I refuse to believe she didn't go and at least say hi.

Which is why I added such a scene to one of my fics. The rest of the story focuses on Nick/Greg, but that particular scene could very well be canon: just two old friends (actually three, but I'm not going to spoil things in case anyone wants to read the story) meeting up and chatting about life and how things have changed since the last time they saw each other.

It's a pity that George Eads apparently left the series not on the best of terms, so the chances of him coming back to the reboot are close to zero, but, hey, that's what fanfiction is for, right?

I like it! And yeah, it's hard when real life actor problems interfere with what would make for a better or more satisfying show.

I get that the final scene of Sara and Grissom going off together was the perfect ending for the whole series, but I still like thinking they paid Nick a little visit later. :)

I haven't seen the ending yet (and I have a fair ways to go before I do), but I'm fine adding that to my version of canon. (Sorry, I still don't have proper icon for either Nick or Greg yet!)

No need to worry! I don't mind spoilers, as a rule, and have thoroughly spoilered myself on other parts of the series already.

I wonder about this too! (And I share your annoyance about his absence in that last ep.) I liked how Nick's peers and his boss(es) seemed so welcoming and everyone expressed sureness that he'd do a great job. I loved Nick as a team player/protector and his love of and regard for found families and loyalty, and I agreed that he was ready for his own lab. I think he'd be a great mentor. He probably had no trouble seeking out and making new friends. I could see Greg leaving Vegas eventually too, not necessarily going to San Diego but not leaving the West Coast either.

It made sense having Nick become lab director and leaving Vegas, but I was a little sad when he wasn't even mentioned in the finale. I'm not sure about Greg, he loves Las Vegas so much, I couldn't see him leaving. But maybe he went back to California? Well, we'll find out soon!
