Elections are over. We don't have a clear majority and forming a government will be nearly impossible. Millions of people still voted for you-know-who after everything he's done. Still a few hours before we find out who the new local governor in my region (Lombardy) will be.
I'll just ignore everything and distract myself with this pretty picture:

Date: 2013-02-27 11:47 am (UTC)I don't know enough about the Italian system but here I'd be against new elections. I'm not a fan because in my opinion the voters' decided and now do the best you can with it. Stupidity or irresponsibility will always be an issue that you can't control. It's possible that new elections won't bring a different result and that would be a proper crisis then. ;)

Date: 2013-02-27 08:35 pm (UTC)1) another "technical government"
2) new elections in a few months
3) a big coalition between the Democratic Party and Berlusconi's party
The third option would make me sick, but I think that's what Grillo wants, so he would be able to say "See? I told you! They're all the same!" Too bad it would be his fault if that happens. And the people who voted for him may be angry and fed up, but they're not stupid. At least, I hope so...

Date: 2013-02-27 09:38 pm (UTC)If Grillo lets it come to the third option, he'll prove that he's not worth voting for. I'd always welcome a new party because I think the established ones need to notice that they are replaceable if they don't do a proper job but a party that's not interested in anything beyond being against everything is just a waste of time.
I understand why people feel attracted to a party like Grillo's but it's not very difficult to figure out which effects a vote for him would have. And if he's not able to show that he can be an efficient politician he'll notive how fast protest voters will be gone again.
That really is an awful result. It's probable that we'll end up with a big coalition in autumn too but that wouldn't be too bad here. To be honest I don't feel like there's THE party out there for me. For years it was never a question how I would vote, my first election was the "Let's vote Kohl out of Kanzleramt." election which united many young people then. But at the moment finding the party that'll get my vote is harder every time.
I hope there'll be a solution for Italy and a solution for Europe soon. I can't stand all of these daily arguments about how to solve the financial crisis and what to do with Euro and EU anymore. It's tiring. I don't like unsolved issues in my life and I don't like to see them on the news every day. I'd like to lock politicians from all EU countries up like the cardinals during the conclave and not let them out until everything's sorted.
