Oh my God, I can't believe in a week I'll be back home! This summer has flown by so quickly, I don't want it to be over. I mean, of course I'll be happy to see my family and friends again, but I've got used to being here, I don't wanna go. :(

These last few days have been really busy: I went down to Long Beach on Tuesday, had my second surf lesson on Wednesday (I still suck), went to San Diego on Friday (American trains are sooo comfortable, there's a lot of leg room), had an extra class and then went to a party with the guys from the producing summer program yesterday (where I drank too much) and today I went to the Writers Faire at the UCLA campus.

Tomorrow in class we'll hand in the complete first act and that's it. I can't believe it.

You've done more of seeing what's around California than I have, and I live here! I've traveled by train a few times and love it. I've gone across country when I was 10 or 11, maybe older, and to San Diego when I was 7 or 8.

But that's so great that you got to have the opportunity and experience.

It's the same for me, I've seen more of Germany than of Italy.

I shouldn't complain, I know I'm very lucky that I had this opportunity, but I'm still sad that it's almost over. :(

I don't think there'd be anyone who wouldn't be sad when something good comes to an end.

I know the feeling! I only have a couple more days left here before I have to head back to Australia :( Definitely not ready to leave yet.

I sounds like you are having an amazing time!

Going home is so sad, especially after such an amazing summer.

Did you manage to catch a glimpse of the H50 team in Hawaii?

I've spent the last few days just trying to commit everything to memory. The plane ride back is going to be so painful. Thankfully Hawaii isn't too far away from Australia so a return trip here is definitely on the cards but I really miss LA and NY, too.

I've had a classic case of wrong place, wrong time. They filmed like two blocks away from me on a day I was on the other side of the island and I was literally down the street on the day they filmed at Fort Street Mall. My fangirl radar must be broken. The closest I've come is running into Kacy getting takeout, which I was totally silently squeeing about because I think she's awesome. I'm not too fussed about not seeing filming but I did kinda want to meet Dot :D

I would've squeed too, Kacy seems such a wonderful person. And Dot! One of my favourite memories from this summer is seeing Scott carry Dot across his shoulders while walking back to the Falcon. It was so precious! :D

I know, it's hard to leave once you get used to a place :( I'd love to hear about San Diego when you have time! (And I didn't even know there was a train between San Diego and Los Angeles. The more you know.)

Yeah. I mean, I haven't reached the point of bursting into tears like I did in Berlin, but LA has definitely grown on me, I'd love to come back.

I was in San Diego just for one day, but I loved what I saw. I walked up to Balboa Park, then down to the Gaslamp Quarter and along the bay. I actually wanted to visit Coronado too, but I didn't have time.

And I loved that the train was called "Pacific Surfrider". :D

Sounds like you've had a great time! Enjoy your last week here before traveling home.

I'm so glad that we had the chance to meet this summer!

Safe travels!

Me too! I've had an amazing summer and I shouldn't complain, but going back to everyday life is always sad, isn't it? Hopefully the memories from these 2 months will carry me through Milan's cold winter. :)

Wow, glad you had such a great time! How did your fist act turn out---were you happy with it?

Well, just think, you might be back in LA for a job next time. ;-) Has the class given you contacts in the industry? Or at least, info on where to look for screenwriting jobs (if there is such a thing)?

I'm not completely happy with it, but it's just a first draft, our teacher said the important thing is to keep going. And then, when you're done, you can go back and revise. Like, if something happens towards the end, you need to set it up in the beginning, but you don't know what that's going to be until you actually write it (unless you already have a very clear idea of all the scenes, but that's rare).

There aren't easy ways to get "screenwriting jobs", the people I talked to all said the same thing: network. Basically, you need to get to know as many people as possible and hope to be in the right place at the right time. Which may be difficult for me, since I don't live here. But I've met a few people here and I know people who work in the theatre field in Milan, so who knows.
