Overall Thoughts:
I didn't draw as much as I did last year, but last year was an exception. I'm glad I got into Hawaii Five-0, it gave me something fresh to work on. I can also see some improvement, especially in the fanart I drew towards the end of the year, mainly because I've been trying to pay more attention to details and to be patient and not rush through things just to be done quickly.
Looking back, did you draw more fanart than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
See above: I drew less than last year, but I really wasn't expecting to draw much. Then, luckily, I got myself a shiny new fandom that really got me going. So, all things considered, I ended up drawing more than what I thought I would.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you draw that you would never have predicted in January?
Hawaii Five-0. I only started watching the show when it aired on Italian TV in spring and I was instantly hooked.
What's your own favourite piece of fanart of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
I'm quite fond of my latest H50 pictures. I'm especially happy with "White Christmas?" because it turned out exactly how I wanted. But I also like "Don't be shy, John".
Do you have any fanart or prolific goals for the New Year?
I'll just copy-paste what I wrote last year:
"I just want to keep drawing, get better at drawing lineart directly on my tablet and colour more."

Popular as in the picture that got the most comments? Then it's definitely "Not a word". But I think "Keep calm" was pretty popular too.
Fanart of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
I really liked "Good morning sunshine", but LJ was throwing tantrums when I posted it and I think a lot of people missed it. At least, that's what I keep telling myself, maybe people just didn't like it. I also thought "Don't be shy, John" would get a few more comments...
Most fun piece of fanart to draw:
"Keep calm..." and "Not a word".
Piece of fanart with the single sexiest moment:
"Kiss me, you goof". It's not really "sexy" but, hey, there's visible skin! Or the two Sherlock/John/Mycroft pictures I drew for the kinkmeme (here and here).
Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" piece of fanart:

Hardest piece of fanart to draw:
"Not a word". It took me a while to get the poses right. And the 25 expressions meme, it took me forever to draw them all.
Biggest Surprise:
Looking at "White Christmas?" and realising the finished picture looked exactly like the image I'd had in my mind from the start.

13. Your Fandom that you haven't Tried Yet, but want to? I still have to catch up on Doctor Who. I'd also like to give Supernatural a go, but there's so much to catch up on and I really don't need another fandom
