All the Christmas cards are on their way! Now I can finally start working on the picture I want to draw for the H50 Christmas Trope Fest and, above all, on my [livejournal.com profile] five0bang assignment. At the moment I have 3 pictures in mind, I hope I can draw them all.

Also, last year the silliest card was a Sherlock card. This year things are not much different. Just less glittery.

My parents are back safe and sound from France. They visited Chartres, Versailles and Paris and were absolutely delighted. Especially my father, who wasn't very enthusiastic at first and only went because my mother insisted so much (he pretty much agreed just to shut her up). But in the end he was thrilled and even said "Well, I visited Berlin and Paris, now I'll have to visit London too!" If he's serious, I'm so taking them to London next year. And my mother was very proud of herself because she could still speak a little bit of French even if she hadn't spoken it for more than 40 years.

The day before they came back I decided to bake a cake for them, but wanted to do something different from the usual apple pie/cake I usually do, so I went with a carrot cake: equally easy to make, but still something new for me. Maybe I kept it in the oven a couple of minutes too long, but all in all it was a success. \o/ I checked the ingredients online at first, because in the list I had there was neither butter nor oil and even an amateur like me knows that's just not right, but then I pretty much ignored the instructions and went with what I learned from years of watching my mother bake all kinds of cakes. I was actually surprised at how easy it was, I knew exactly what to do and how to do it. Granted, carrot cake is one of the easiest things to bake, but I'm still quite satisfied with the result. :)

I never measure when I'm baking. I just throw everything in until it looks (and tastes right) :D Damn I make good scones... And carrot cake is gooood ♥

Caaaaaaaaaaaard! I have yours here. I've not been brave enough to face the Post Office yet. I was in the shop earlier and the staff were almost in tears because it had been so busy ;-;

I didn't go to the Post Office, I always waste so much time there. I bought the stamps in 2 different shops, but no one knew how much postage I should use and I stupidly forgot to check online before sending them off and, yeah, I used the wrong stamps. *headdesk* I hope they'll get there anyway. Or at least that they'll get returned to me, so I can send them again with the right postage.

Mmmm, sounds delicious! And I'm glad your parents had a nice time.

I sent your card today, too! It might be a little late to make it in time for Christmas, but hopefully it'll make it in 2011?

I hope the cards won't get lost forever, I've just found out I used the wrong postage! D:
