I've already mentioned I've been obsessed with girly shoes lately, haven't I? Well, a friend of mine is getting married in two days and, while I already knew what to wear, I wasn't sure about the shoes. Until I fell in love with a pair of sandals a few days ago. I didn't buy them right away, because I wanted to think it over, but this morning I went and bought them. I like them, they weren't expensive and, hey, I'm going to another wedding in August, I needed a pair of "elegant" sandals!

So, this is what I'm going to wear:

Dress:

Shoes:

Yeah, I know, I'm such a fangirl for getting the same dress as Paule, but when I saw her wearing that dress two years ago, I immediately thought "I'd love one like that too!" And when I saw it in a shop in Milan after a couple of months, I just couldn't resist. By the way, I'm sure I've seen one of the front row girls wearing the same dress too, so I'm not the only one who likes it. :P

My mother likes the shoes, but she keeps whining and saying the soles are too high and I'm going to be "too tall". She'd probably throw a fit if I told her I'll be 1,82m wearing them... XD

Also, the Opel-Magna agreement? I'm laughing so, so much. Did FIAT really think the Germans would have accepted? I've read a couple of Farin's interviews that made me understand what's the idea foreigners (and especially Germans) have of FIAT:

"All the people in the neighbourhood had Mercedes and BMWs, while we only had second-hand FIATS..."

(Speaking of very rich people) "...and they don't go around driving FIATS".

So, I'm not surprised Opel chose another partner, I was actually expecting it.

Meanwhile, Ferrero was ranked "world's most reputable company". That's the "Italian way" as it should be.

Well, Italy means: food, fashion, culture, wonderful men, vacation... but cars? Italian cars haven't got a good image here, they are very well designed, but more in a garage than at your's. ;)

And there had been a cooperation between Opel and Fiat some years ago and it didn't went well. So nobody at Opel was very interested in Fiat as a partner again.

The dress is beautiful. :)

This surprises me a lot! Haha. Chrysler just had to merge with Fiat out here because of major auto issues, as if Fiat was going to seriously help us out.

Also, Lamborghini? Come on. XD

Audi owns Lamborghini since 1998. So Lamborghini is seen as an Italian car with German technics. ;)

The merger between Chrysler and Fiat was a second point for not giving them Opel. Many people say, that Fiat wouldn't be strong enough to handle Chrysler and Opel the same time, because Fiat itself has financial problems.

I saw it coming from the beginning. And now the CEO of FIAT keeps whining and says the whole thing looks like a bad soap opera. HA! Did he really think it would work? Come on!

He had a bad start. He visited the Kanzleramt without wearing a suit. The media didn't like that. :D

A few days ago, the unions had invited every prospective buyer to present their concept to the workers in Rüsselsheim. Even an American investor who wasn't government's favourite came to speak with them. Fiat didn't even reply the invitation.

Well, FIAT actually has something to give you: small cars. You Americans will have to stop driving huge cars in the future, and FIAT's technology could help you.

>>Also, Lamborghini?

Well, I could mention Ferrari, but that's not your average every day car. ;)

Yeah, Ferrari too! XD

But yeah, the huge car thing is becoming such an issue here -- and I mean from the conservatives. They insist that with Obama's new standards to force cars to follow emissions and have good gas mileage that he's stifling the american dream and that electric cars will never ever be as big or manly as their gas guzzler.

It's not like you can't have big cars which follow certain standards. We have big cars in Europe too, just not so many. (I personally think they're useless most of the time, try find a parking place for a hummer in Milan. HAH!)

Amd someone should tell the conservatives that big cars are just a compensation: the bigger the car, the smaller the... :P

Yeah, probably only Ferraris have a good reputation abroad, don't they? But that's like fashion, it's a very expensive product for very rich people.

Also, "wonderful men"?! WHAT?! XD

Yes, Ferrari and all the luxury cars. The expensive cars have a good reputation.

Also, "wonderful men"?! WHAT?! Yes, Italians know how to flirt and they are good looking and very well dressed. :)

Hey man, at least your country still makes cars. Thatcher bent ours over and rammed a broom handle up it. I've always driven very old cars. New cars leave me unimpressed and flacid XD I'll admit though that I'm not a fan of Fiat. Not because they are cheap (they're not here) or nasty. It's just a "kids" car that will never be a classic :\ For the same money I'd spend on an ancient Fiat, I could buy a Triumph! I know what one I'd rather have!

That dress is nice :) And the shoes are gorgeous!

That's the point: FIAT are NOT cheap! A big part of the production is made in Poland, but the cars are still quite expensive. Sure, not as expensive as a BMW, but they should be cheaper. I mean, the engine is usually very good, but after just a few years you start having problems with this or that part.

And thanks. I fell in love with the shoes as soon as I've seen them! :)

It's not really just Fiat though - all cars in the same size bracket here are the same price, regardless of who makes them. Doesn't matter if it's Vauxhall, Renault, Peugeot. I'm not against small cars, I just fail to see why someone who has the choice would possibly look at a brand new Fiat and think it's pretty/cool/any good and yet they do. It's like Fiattopia around here! Every third car is a bloody Punto, and for some reason everyone has picked the bright yellow one as though it is a reflection on their "bubbly" personality D:

Or maybe I just hate them because my brother's girlfriend drives one. She must have part-exchanged her broomstick for it.
