A friend of my mother's proposed me a political career this morning. Next year we'll have to vote for a new mayor and town council and she asked me if I was interested in a councillor post. I was a little taken aback (okay, I was outright shocked) and told her I don't have any experience, I wouldn't know what to do. She said that the youngest candidates usually don't get elected the first time, so I shouldn't worry and told me to think about it. She also asked me if I was interested in contributing to the local newspaper. Then she introduced me to the other "young one". I didn't recognise him, but he did: we used to be in the same class in primary school! We hadn't seen each other for 12 years, last time I saw him we were 11 and now he's grown a beard. Quite a shocking Sunday morning.
