Rant time!

gothikmausWell, I guess I have a little time to say this: why announce a film for more than two weeks if you're going to mutilate it in order to show it during prime time? I watched The Exorcist the other night, or what was supposed to be The Exorcist. It was supposed to start at 9 pm. It started at 9.50 pm, after several warnings of "Put children to bed" and "Are children still around?" Tsk, the best way to appeal children's curiosity is to tell them not to do something: they will want to at any cost, even if they originally weren't interested.
Anyway, I waited 50 bloody minutes and what did I get? A bloody abridged version! I had never seen the film (I know, I know, I'm ignorant) and was expecting something utterly terrifying, I'm quite easy to scare. Well, they turned The Exorcist into a joke. They must have cut 20 minutes of it, and I'm not exaggerating: Regan rotating her head 360° and crab-walking down the stairs? It wasn't there. Regan throwing up on the priest? Nope. Regan doing nasty thing with her tongue (and a cross)? No way.
They said they delayed it and cut the scariest scenes to "protect the children". *fumes* If you want to protect the innocent souls of Italian children, you don't show a film like that at 9.00 pm (or even 9.50 pm); you simply show it after midnight, so I can set up my VCR, tape it and watch it, in its entirety, the next day.
Why do I even bother? It's one of Mr Berlusconi's TVs...
