My friends from Berlin are in Milan for a short visit. They're appalled at our crappy public transport service. And the Italian one, who used to live here and then moved to Berlin, says every time he comes back, he sees things have got even worse. I'll just say this: a couple of days ago Brice Springsteen played in Milan. The area around the stadium was blocked and people were asked to use the underground busses to go to the concert. Too bad that, after the concert, there were no busses and the underground was closed. Needless to say, there were about 70,000 very pissed off people in the streets.

You think that's bad? I used to live in a place that only had six buses running through it a day, and you were lucky if they turned up. The public transport in Berlin makes me weep tears of joy :'( Sometimes, I have to just go sit on a train and experience what public transport is supposed to be like...

I know it's not that bad, actually, in Milan we have one of the best public transport services in Italy (and I just don't want to know how bad it is in other Italian cities...) But it's still not enough for a city like this. I saw a better service in Mannheim, where there are about 300,000 inhabitants. There are more than 1.3 millions inhabitants in Milan and you can't even go to a concert with the underground, because you'll have to go home on foot afterwards if you do.

And of course I don't mind. Thank you! :)
