Berlin reportage
Sep. 5th, 2004 02:44 pmA few pics from my holiday. The ones with a * were taken by Stefano (I give credits where credits are due ^_^)
Our hostel *
A bit dusty, but nice. ^_^'
Playing Magic at Wannsee *
It was our second day in Berlin and Stefano's birthday, we went to Wannsee, a big lake near the city, to have a swim and sunbathe a bit. And I, being a not so Mediterranean kind of girl, ended up scarlet. Luckily, it wasn't a real sunburn and it didn't hurt.
"Please, use it" sign XD
Some friends of our friends' organised a barbecue and they invited us as well. The live in an old building and this sign was on one of the doors leading to the garden. There where a lot of condom ads in the underground stations too, for the "Give AIDS no chance" campaign.
A wasp feasting on my guacamole bagel * (don't open if you're afraid of insects)
Germany was invaded by wasps this summer, they were everywhere, especially if there was food nearby. A wasp even crawled inside the straw Demi had used to drink her orange juice. We couldn't decide whether it was funny or scary... O_O
Zauber Festival poster
There was a Zauber Festival (Magic Festival) in Spandau, with a lot of magicians and children dressed up as wizards and witches. There were even 2 girls around my age dressed up as Hermione (complete with Time-Turner) and Draco. =) There was a stand selling Harry Potter action figures too and they had a Snape one, but they were so expensive... T_T
Harry Potter stickers!
We went to a flea market and I bought a few Magic cards and these HP stickers. Our friends had a stand too and they were selling Basket Case by Green Day for only 30 cents, so I bought that as well. =)
Eastside Gallery *
They kept about 1 KM of the wall and transformed it in a sort of open-air art gallery, with works by international artists. Most of the wall was pulled down, but there are signs on the ground outlining its course throughout the city.
"Souvenirs"
A few things I threw onto my scanner.
Jigen and Goemon on my headboard
The pic didn't come out very well, but my poor old camera doesn't have a zoom and this is the best I could do. They're lovely though, aren't they? I still can't believe they cost me only 9 euros each. Oh yes, I love Berlin. =)
