Holidays are over. *sigh*
Aug. 31st, 2004 03:57 pmHi. *waves feebly* I'm back. You all missed me terribly while I was away, didn't you? -_-#
I came back Friday evening, but haven't had time to write till now. I've spent Saturday unpacking andtidying up throwing things around my room, Sunday I went to a Medieval fair with some friends and yesterday I started working again. Ugh.
Anyway. Berlin is amazing. It's huge and full of people, but it's not chaotic like London. There are a lot of trees, very little traffic and very little noise. The underground takes you everywhere and there are buses all night long. I finally understood how awfully behind Italy is compared to Nortern Europe countries. I mean, I already knew it, but seeing it with your own eyes makes it even worse. And the food is so cheap! We could eat with 3 euros, while in Milan you can barely buy a sandwich for that price, and beer costs half as much as it does here (well, that I was expecting, you know, all those cliché about Germany and beer... ^_^')
I went with 2 friends, Demi and Stefano, to visit a mutual friend of ours who lives in Berlin (his wife is German). We stayed in the Western part of the city and near our hostel there was a gay library. I would've have liked to go inside and have a look, but we were always in a hurry and only ended up in front of it at night while we were going back to the hostel. I've seen a lot of pretty guys though. =)
And I'm so very, very happy because I bought a Jigen action figure and a Goemon action figure (they're 2 characters from Lupin the Third, in case you didn't know), they're quite big and only cost 9 euros each! I couldn't believe it, the original price was around 59 euros each and I only paid 9! Wheee! Now they're standing on my headboard and protecting me when I sleep. ^_^ I took a pic of them and will post it as soon and I have my photos developed. Stefano has a digital camera and gave me a CD with all the pics he took and they're brilliant.
We went to see Spiderman 2 (the original version in English) and watched a funny German film, (T)Raumschiff Surprise - Periode 1, which is a Star Trek / Star Wars parody. I bought the single of a song from its soundtrack, it's called Space Taxi and the video is hilarious. And we discovered a German punk band called Die Ärzte who are utterly brilliant.
On the last night before going home we went to a gothic pub/club called Last Cathedral and Demi and I convinced Stefano to wear eyeliner. It's unbelievable what a bit of black under the eyes can do. Well, OK, I have a weakness for guys wearing eyeliner, still I wasn't expecting such a transformation.
Well, that's all for now. I'll post a few pics in one of my next entries. Don't know when, though...
Mopsgeschwindigkeit!
