I can't believe this
Mar. 31st, 2003 09:50 pmI found this short article on a newspaper this afternoon and it pissed me off A LOT.
Homosexuals are of no social value
Vatican City - "Homosexuality is of no social value": it is "a psychic intrigue that society cannot institutionalize", people must stop "stigmatizing whoever reflects on homosexuality" accusing them of "homophobia".
It's bound to cause controversies the entry about homosexuals in the Lexicon Vaticano of ethical terms, which will be published in a few days. The 900 pages long work includes 78 keywords that were analysed by the Pontifical Council for the family and judged "ambiguous" for the way parliaments and cultural and international organizations use them.
Acknowledging gay couples, the Vatican dictionary states, would be the consequence of an "ethically unstable" attitude and of an "incoherent reason", because "society can't institutionalize every sexual reality without considering the objective reality" of the "universal" couple model, which is based on a man and a woman.
Lexicon Vaticano brands as "suicidal vision" of "Western societies" the tendency to give "objective determination" to all "subjective attitudes", including sexual matters.
One of the terms that will cause a stir, beside homosexuality and homophobia, is the so-called "safe sex", which is strongly disapproved, as is the supposed effectiveness of condoms, used as a form of prevention for sexually transmitted diseases.

How can the Church be so intolerant? We're not in the Middle Ages anymore, for fuck's sake! Well, since there's a "Holy War" going on right now, one might wonder if we're in the year 2003 or 1003. I'm so glad I've turned atheist...
Speaking of something else, I took that blasted exam today and got 25/30. It's not so bad, but the prof asked me some stupid questions (names, names and more names) and didn't let me finish when I was explaining an important thing.
*growls*
I hate oral exams.
