gothikmaus: (RAWR!)

Guess who still doesn't have the data she needs to finish the big bad document of doom? I've even made a research on my own because I got bored, but I found different sources and so I can't compare the sales from 2005 to the ones from 2006.

So I put my time to better use and write down my memories of the concerts.

29.11.2007 - Leipzig

I left on the night of the 28th and had a nice case of train overbooking happen in my compartment (luckily not my bunk). I got to Frankfurt around 6:10 AM with a slight delay and had to run to catch my connection to Leipzig. Sammy came to fetch me at the station and we went together to her place, were Almut and Melina already were. We took Melina to the station and went to the venue, we got there around 3 PM and of course there were already people standing at the gates, more specifically a bunch of boys getting slowly but steadily plastered on cheap beer. It was so unbelievingly cold, worse than Ärzte statt Böller, but it was worth it because we got to the front row in front of Rod (thank you Almut!)

The support act was Stereogram, a band from New Zealand I really liked.

And then finally Die Ärzte. I only have random memories of the concert, so I'll list them as I wrote them down in my notebook:

  • After "Elektrobier" ("Ein Lied über Wiederstand... und Bier!"), the theme of the night was "BIER!" which was shouted randomly throughout the concert. It eventually became "Bier!" "Und?" "Bier!" "Und?" "FICKEN!" With Bela urging us to shout "Und... ficken! Und... ficken!" on and on.

  • Slashy moment of the night: during "Zu spät" Farin was complaining because he got no bras, Bela went to him, opened his arms and said "Come on, you still have your drummer!" Aww.

  • Bela and Farin came out dressed as Arabs during "Dinge von denen" and shouted "Jihad! Jihad! Jihad!" Sammy's comment: "If they ever tried to do that in the US, they'd end up in jail straight away!"

  • Bras: someone threw Farin one with "In ewige Liebe" and "Please fuck me" written on it. Farin's comment: "I've always said love and fucking go together."

  • I had the impression Bela saw me at the beginning of the concert, he looked in my direction for quite a long time and smiled this brilliant smile, but maybe it was someone else. Also, the last stick he threw fell right in front of me and luckily the security guy gave it to me. :)

Back to Sammy's flat we watched some TRL and some MTV Masters on her laptop and then I pretty much passed out.

30.12.2007 - Bremen

We left for Bremen quite late, around 1:00 PM, and the car was so crowded we barely fit inside. During the ride on the Autobahn a car went past us and its registration number was "** FU 666" Any DÄ fan would kill for it! XD

We got to the Arena 20 minutes before the gates were supposed to open and there were 2 looong queues in front of it. I thought "We'll never make it to the front", but apparently one of the 2 girls who were in the car with us had some friends who were lining up, so we followed them. It turned out said friends weren't lining up at all, so we had to sneak our way in. I felt kind of guilty and at one point Andy from security started shouting to people who were trying to jump the queue and I felt even worse. But we got into the main area in the end (they were even handing out Bändchen) and all was good.

  • Support was still Stereogram, and from where we were staying (front row all the way to the left) we could see Bela taking pictures and videos of their performance and drinking red wine. I admit I spent most of the time looking at him and not at the band, bad me.

  • Song on demand of the night was again "Geschwisterliebe", requested by a kid who was so cool that Farin decided they would play the song again. He had a deep red mohawk and an ä (with triple umlaut) shaved on the side. When he asked for "Geschwiesterliebe" Farin said something like "Well, maybe you've never heard it, how old are you? 12? 11?" The kid said he was 12 and Farin added "How cool are you? You even have an ä shaved on the side of your head! All right, we'll play it, but you have to cover your ears!" The kid, who was sitting on his big brother shoulders right next to me, covered his ears and made horns with his hands at the same time, when Bela and Farin saw that they burst out laughing. Bela even tried to imitate him and almost missed the beat. After the song Farin gave him a pick and Bela a drumstick. The whole thing was so unbelievingly sweet.

  • Random groupie: at one point a girl must have taken out her shirt, because Rod, Bela and the audience made some very appreciative comments. And the following little dialogue followed:

Bela: "Do you have a boyfriend? No? You don't?"
Rod: "Now you have one: Bela!"
    Bela: "Now you have three!"

Then when Farin and Rod swapped places the girl was mentioned again for some reason and Farin talked to her this time:

Farin: "No, don't show them to me, save them for someone important."
    Rod: "To me, perhaps?"

Rod! You dirty thing, you! XD Later when a girl showed Farin a banner with "Nur einen Kuss" written on it, he said "Maybe if you opened your shirt, that would help..."

  • Maths: Before "2000 Mädchen" after Rod asked "How much is 10.000 Mädchen - 8.000 Mädchen?" Then he tried something a bit more difficult, with square roots or something, but he couldn't think of the right number, so Bela helped him out:

Bela: "How many girls are in Farin's black book?"
    Audience: "2000 Mädchen!"
Bela: "How many girls are in Farin's red book?"
    Audience: "2000 Mädchen!"
Bela: "How many drummers are in Farin's pink book?"
    Audience: "ONE!"
    Bela: "And what's his name?"
    Audience: "BELA B!"

    Aww. XD

  • Before "Der Graf" a roadie brought Bela a glass of red wine, Bela took a sip and gave it back to him, then grabbed it again, took another sip and gave it back, then grabbed it again and so on for a few times. And added something like "Working for me is great."

  • Underwear: Farin was complaining again because the others had bras and he didn't, so the audience "spontaneously" through a dozen bras onstage at the same time, which was hilarious to watch. Farin was impressed by someone trying to throw hi a red bra, that unfortunately didn't make it past the front row.

  • Underwear 2: Someone threw some grandma underpants onstage, Bela sniffed them and exclaimed "Hey, these were worn!" Eek. Then he realised there was something written on them and read it aloud: "Bela, be my Omaboy". This band has some really crazy fans. XD

Man, this is awfully long. Hopefully you're not dead from boredom!
