Now it's really over. Bela's concert in Munich last Saturday was the very last one of the year and I started my internship today, so summer is officially over for me.

This was my second time in Munich and I have very mixed feelings about the city: on the one hand I've got happy memories because, both last year and this year, I was very lucky getting free tickets for Bela's gigs and found great places to stay, on the other hand there's the "last concert feeling", so all my memories are tinged with a bit of melancholy. But I won't complain, this year I stayed in a very nice hostel, it was the only one that still had free beds (I called the day before I left) and I'm so glad I found it. I even got a single bed instead of the bunk beds, because the room was still empty when I arrived and I could choose. One of the people I was sharing the room with was a nice medicine student from Hamburg (oh, the irony, going to a Bela concert and making friends with an Arzt aus Hamburg), his girlfriend arrived around 1 AM and he had nothing to do until then, so we went for a walk in the centre together, ate something in a tipycal Bavarian restaurant that only had Bretzel and no normal bread, stopped for a snack in a sushi bar and had the most delicious Gourmet Tour at Dallmayr. Shops were open until midnight that day, this one is a very expensive food shop that organised a sort of "all you can eat" for 35€, which isn't exactly cheap, but we shared the cost and ate like pigs. I swear I had the best chocolate cake in the universe. And wine, salmon, tea, ice cream... Yum.

The festival was full of ups and downs, luckily everything went well in the end, but we really had to suffer this time. Here's the photo gallery, unfortunately most of the pictures were quite blurry, I touched up the best ones with Photoshop to make them look at least decent:

And the festival report:

15th September, Energy in the Park, München

I had just finished having breakfast when Almut arrived at the hostel, she left her bag in my room and we went to the venue. We got there around 11:30 and found Wayne talking to the girls, he greeted us and seemed quite surprised to see me, he probably wasn't expecting me to be there since I hadn't gone to the show in Papenburg the week before. He even asked "Did you fly here especially for this?" No, I just happened to walk around and found myself in Munich. D'oh. We chatted a bit, he said he would probably be at the aftershow party, which took place in a club in the same street as our hostel, and then was off to soundcheck.

The waiting was boring as usual, when the gates finally opened we ran all the way to the stage and when we got there we found out WE COULD'T GET TO THE MAIN AREA BECAUSE YOU NEEDED A STUPID BÄNDCHEN YOU COULD ONLY WIN ONLINE!!! All the other girls had it of course, Almut and I were the only ones who didn't know about it. We were so pissed off, at first we tried to ask the security people if we could get in but of course they bounced us off. I stood behind the second barricade for some time but then got fed up, Almut had met a girl we know from MySpace who had a photographer pass and she said she would try to help us, but we were quite pessimistic about it.

I was so depressed, on the one hand I was happy to be there and see the band once again, on the other hand I was so sad and disappointed, that was the last show they would give for a long time and after being in the front row at every concert this wasn't the best way to end the season. Also because the main area was almost empty, it really made no sense.

We moped around the festival area for a while and then got as close to the front as we could, hoping in a miracle. And eventually our patience was rewarded: during the break between 2 bands the security guys were giving away little tickets, one of the hardcore fans told us to just go ask for 2 of them as there were plenty, but just as we were about to ask we realised no one was paying attention to us, so we just walked inside and got to the second row right in front of Bela. :D That must be fate, I was in the second row in front of Bela last year too, I could've been in the front but I had to wait an eternity before someone gave the guestlist I was on to the security guy. :P

Our mood got much much better from then on, we saw the last bands left, spotted Bela and Wayne watching them too from a corner of the stage and then it was finally showtime. There was no intro as Bela only had 1 hour and the speeches between the songs were much shorter than usual, but the concert was great. Even if some stupid guy behind me kept pogoing and pushing me for a good 15 minutes and the girl in front of me was jumping and whipping her hair in my face the whole time during the fastest songs. But she was standing a bit to the right and her friend a bit to the left, so there was virtually no one in front of me and I had a perfect view.

At one point Bela waved in my direction, I don't know if he really was waving at me, but I'd like to think he was. I got all the way from Milan to see you, the least you can do is give me a little wave. ^_^

Random funny bits:

- Bela's little dance during "Was ist nur los" ♥♥♥

- Wayne and Paule's antics during "1.2.3..." with Paule teasing Wayne and then going away and leaving him there with his necktie half undone. His expression was priceless. XD

- The band looking up and making weird faces as if there was something hanging over the stage

After the concert we lingered there a bit, had to run like hell to take the S-Bahn and went to the hostel to rest a bit before going to the aftershow party. We were both quite tired but the club was just a couple of tram stops away and the entry was free, so we went. The other girls were there too, but the band was nowhere to be seen. It was nice hearing "Schrei nach Liebe" in a club, though, that's something that could never happen in Milan. ^_^

Damn, my concert reports are always so long, and most of them aren't even about the actual concerts. Sorry.

I'm off to bed now. I'll have to get used to getting up early in the morning again.

Huh, I was a bit surprised that Silke knew ny name for some reason. But she's really quite nice and not as arrogant as you might think at first.
You forgot Bela's comments about fisting Olsen all night;D Priceless.
