Ugh attic and yay fic!
Aug. 16th, 2006 09:09 pmI had such a bizarre dream last night, I can't really remember what happened but at some point I was in my parents' bedroom and Demi was asking me questions about sex. Surreal. XD
Anyway. We're getting the roof fixed in September, which means we have to clean up the attic before I leave for Berlin. And when I say "clean up" I mean throw away 22 years worth of useless stuff. We began this morning and it was like stepping into a time machine. Luckily I had already got rid of half of my stuff last year, but there were still so many things. Books, toys, magazines, it was crazy. I was a bit sad when I had to throw away some of my toys, but hey, you have to grow up at some point. *sigh*
By the way, there's a DÄ party in Berlin on the 8th of September! And the venue is like 10 minutes away from the flat where I'll be staying! WHEEE! ♥♥♥
And here's something new. A series of drabbles about the four seasons, set during Farin's year-long holiday. I hope it didn't get too sappy in the end.
Title: A year and a day
Fandom: Die Ärzte
Characters: Bela B, Farin Urlaub
Prompts: 061 - Winter; 062 - Spring; 063 - Summer; 064 - Fall
Word Count: 100 x 4
Rating: G - PG
Author's Notes: All drabbles contain slash
WINTER
Farin removed his sunglasses and stared at the horizon. The sun was setting, the sea and sky a kaleidoscope of colours. He was glad he was spending the winter away from Germany, he had never liked his homeland's rigid climate.
He stretched out his legs and reclined back, enjoying the feeling of cool sand under his palms. He shouldn't have called Bela. He had only wanted to wish him a happy birthday, but his voice, warmer than the Southern sun and so far away, had brought along too many memories.
He was the only reason Farin always went back home.
SPRING
Work had always helped him forget his problems. And the imminent release of the first single from his solo album was keeping him so busy he hardly had time to eat and sleep. No time left to think about Franziska and how their relationship had ended.
And then he got that postcard. A cherry tree in full bloom, a Japanese temple and the Mount Fuji. Just a few lines about spring in Kyoto and how crazy Japanese comics were. But they were enough to throw Bela's world off balance again. If only he wasn't so far away...
"Damn you, Jan."
SUMMER
Farin lay down on the grass and looked at the sky. That was said to be the best night to see shooting stars and he fully intended to spot at least one. After a while he closed his eyes, the sound of the waves breaking on the rocks lulling him to sleep. When he opened them again he saw it, crossing the sky and disappearing in a heartbeat.
The fireworks started. He thought of the last time he had seen them, of how Bela had pulled him close and kissed him.
He closed his eyes again and made a wish.
FALL
Bela looked out of the window. It had been raining for hours and everything was grey, a few yellow and red leaves scattered on the pavement the only spots of colour. His first free day after weeks of touring and he couldn't do anything because of the weather. Perfect.
The doorbell rang. He moved away from the window, wondering who it could be. Nobody was supposed to know he was home yet. He opened the door. A very tanned Farin smiled at him.
Bela pulled him close, not caring about the neighbours for once. His sun was back at last.

Date: 2006-08-18 02:49 pm (UTC)I totally understand the cleaning thing. That's what I was supposed to do this summer. I got about halfway through and stalled out. It really is hard getting rid of your old stuff.
