Music and books and random job whining

All right, maybe yesterday I overreacted. Maybe changing will do me good. If I have to change at all, which is still not sure. But damn, it always takes me so bloody long to open up with strangers, I feel perfectly comfortable here with these guys, why do I have to start all over again? *sigh* I'm not cut for this job, I'm really not. -__-
Anyway, last night's "meeting" went quite well, even if the keyboardist said she couldn't come at the last minute and the singer wasn't very happy about that. We chose a few songs we're going to play: "A forest" by The Cure (YEEEEEEEEESSSSSS! The easiest song ever to play on bass! And the first one I learned to play, I'll just need 10 minutes to refresh my memory :P), "King for a day" by Faith no more, "Enjoy the silence" by Depeche Mode (but we'll probably use the cover made by HIM as reference) and "Cochise" by Audioslave. Let's hope I'm not the crappiest one in the band and don't screw things up. *crosses fingers*
And damn, I have a toothache. The right half of my face (and throat) feels all swollen and weird and my right eye hurts a little. WTF?
Oh, I forgot to say I started reading one of the two books about Germany I bought last Saturday and I LOVE it. The title is "Piccolo viaggio nell'anima tedesca" ("Brief journey in the German soul"), it's a sociological essay, the first chapter is all about the German language, about certain words that don't have a translation in Italian and other languages, like Schadenfreude or Zweisamkeit, or terms like Rechthaber or Mitläufer or Männerfreundschaft. I'm such a language geek, I love it. X)
And since I'm not feeling very well today, let's move some positive karma around.
Comment and I'll pay you a compliment. Then post this in your own Journal - share the love.
Aaand...
WHY AM I ON YOUR FRIENDS LIST?

Date: 2006-04-05 09:35 am (UTC)I'm not patriotic at all. But I am on the Polish side. I began to hate French football team when there was all that mediatisation about them in 2002. Because they won the World Cup, because they won against Italy in 2000, they thought it'd be the same, and all the medias spoke about it, and blablabla. Guh.
On the other side, see, I support biathlon french team. ;) (But actually, they're not so known...Well, now perhaps more, because of the gold medals in the Olympic Games...)
