The TDL concert inspired me to draw two silly comics. To tell the truth I just wanted to draw one, but I didn't have time to finish it before Christmas, so it's just a rough sketch. But I did have time after Christmas, so I modified it a bit and turned it into a New Year's comic. And, because I am shameless, I sent them both to Wayne. XD
Here they are! By the way, the text is an inside joke that will only be funny for the people who were at the Santa Margherita concert, it's about the recurring topic of the evening: Lula's love for "vino rosso" (red wine).

And, of course, the usual End of year memes.

LIFE, THE UNIVERSE AND EVERYTHING
What did you do in 2018 that you'd never done before?
Visited Ravenna
Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I wanted to finish that Mystrade fic I was working on and I finally did. I also drew a little more than the year before (still not as much as I used to, but it's better than nothing.) I wanted to read more and I failed miserably. I mean, I went back to reading a lot of fanfiction, but I really should have read more books.
So, for 2019 resolution number 1 will be: read more books! And try to keep writing and drawing. And maybe lose a few kilos.
Did anyone close to you give birth?
No, but in 2019 three friends of mine will give birth!
Did anyone close to you die?
My old employer.
What countries did you visit?
I didn't travel abroad this year.
What would you like to have in 2019 that you lacked in 2018?
I'm tempted to say "a relationship", but after the failure with A. in 2017 I'm not even sure that's what I want. Someone to spend some time with? It's becoming more and more difficult to meet with my friends.
What dates from 2018 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
The day I visited Ravenna in August, because it's such a beautiful town. And the 15th December, when I saw The Dead Lovers in Santa Margherita, because it was great meeting Wayne again after such a long time.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Finishing that Mystrade fic!
What was your biggest failure?
Not reading enough.
Did you suffer illness or injury?
An annoying cyst.
What was the best thing you bought?
Concert tickets!
Whose behavior merited celebration?
My parents, a few colleagues.
Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Politicians, a few colleagues.
Where did most of your money go?
Not counting mortgage and bills? Travels and concert tickets.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Finding out Die Ärzte are playing in Milan next year!!! And that The Cure are playing in Florence. (Of course I was also happy about meeting
schwimmerin again, but my reaction to that was much tamer. Sorry Jenny. XD)
What songs will always remind you of 2018?
"Shallow" by Lady Gaga
"Amore a Capoeira" by Takagi & Ketra ft. Giusy Ferreri (blasted summer Ohrwurm!)
Compared to this time last year, you are:
i. happier or sadder? Happier
ii. thinner or fatter? About the same
iii. richer or poorer? A tiny bit richer
What do you wish you'd done more of?
I wish I'd read more non-fanfiction.
What do you wish you'd done less of?
Second-guessing myself, procrastinating.
How did you spend Christmas / Hanukkah?
With my parents as usual.
Did you fall in love in 2018?
Nope.
What was your favorite TV program?
The Americans.
What was the best book you read?
"Il rifugio degli inutili"
What was your greatest musical discovery?
The Dead Lovers. I'd only listened to a few of their songs here and there, but they are really something live. And Muse Italian Connection, a brilliant Muse cover band.

A holiday, concert tickets.
What did you want and not get?
I can't think of anything right now.
What was your favorite film of this year?
A star is born, Fantastic Beasts - The crimes of Grindelwald, Bohemian Rhapsody
What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I... can't remember. I think I had a drink with my colleagues on my actual birthday and then had dinner at a friend's place a few days later. Nothing wild, though. I turned 38.
What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
I can't think of anything right now, I really can't complain about 2018.
