ASDFGHJKL In a month I'll be in Los Angeles! Hopefully asleep and not totally jetlagged and staring up at the ceiling.

I'm slowly getting more and more excited. The workshop, seeing Scott Caan on stage twice, meeting up with Nicole ([livejournal.com profile] unbelangbar) again. I'd also like to visit some other places, like San Francisco and San Diego, but nothing's fixed yet. I can't wait! :D

Sooo jealous that you'll get to see Scott Caan on stage - twice!

So cool.

Also can definitely recommend San fransisco, it's my favourite city in the world. Just all the love.

Very exciting! :D

I actually met Nicole in Berlin when I was still living there 2 years ago: it was my last week before coming back to Italy and she was there to see a Rammstein concert.

And I've just realised my last day in Berlin was exactly 2 years go, 25th May 2010. How can it be 2 years already?! D:

I'm really looking forward to seeing Scott Caan's play!

Anything in particular you'd recommend in San Francisco? I have a guidebook but it's always better to hear the opinion of people who already visited the place. I think I'll stay 3-4 days. Also, any suggestion about hotels is welcome too. :)

I loved walking around China town and the Japanese area, both fascinating. Also North Beach for good food (the Italian district). I also actually enjoyed walking around the financial district but I'm from the UK and it was my first visit to the US so the sky scrapers and everything were new to me. And of course the Golden Gate bridge is worth a walk, cycle, drive over and you can go down into Sausalito on the other side and then get the ferry back across the bay - lovely trip.

We stayed in the Holiday Inn financial district for a couple nights - which was fantastic! It borders the financial district and China town and it has a pool on the roof which is surrounded by skyscrapers (the Transamerica pyramid is very near) and then views right down to the bay. We then stayed in a much cheaper place for the rest of our stay and we loved it. It's called the San Remo hotel in North Beach http://www.sanremohotel.com/ We shared a bathroom as that makes it even cheaper - the rooms are gorgeous, it's an old villa that's been converted. It was a bit noisy at night when we were there, as lots of young travellers stay there but we didn't mind that. It was ten years ago though, so maybe check out current reviews?

How are you getting up to SF from LA? Are you driving? The pacific coastal highway is gorgeous so if you are it will be fantastic.

I could go on forever. It was honestly my favourite place I've been to in the world so far (well joint with parts of Greece). If you want to know any more just PM me with your email addy and I'll send you an email.

Thank you! :) As I said in my entry, nothing's fixed yet, so I don't know how I'll be travelling from LA to SF. If I'm alone I'll probably go by plane, I don't want to drive on my own for so long.

I think once I've made up my mind on how to travel and how long to stay, I'll send you a PM asking for more suggestions, if you don't mind. :)
