I'm back! I survived! Just barely, but I survived. Malta was the hottest place I've visited so far, some days it was 38°C degrees in the shade and, believe me, there wasn't much shade around. I have a hell of a cough and I lost my voice thanks to the ridiculous air conditioning from the restaurant at the hotel and I got a big purple bruise from slipping at the waterpark on Saturday. When I looked at it in the evening I got really scared, I've never seen such an ugly bruise in my life, it looks like someone beat me with a baseball bat.



What else? I walked around a lot (we had to practically climb a hill to get the students to school, with no hint of shade for most of the way, of course), I haven't been so tanned in ages, I made friends with some very nice people, ate the most delicious watermelon cooler ever and discovered I can drink a pint of cider and 5 vodka-redbull shots without getting drunk. \o/

The only really annoying thing about this trip was that a student's bag got stolen at school, he had his ID in it so we had to get a police report, which wasn't easy, because they wanted to see a document, but, hello, his document was stolen, so I had to tell his mother to send me a copy of her ID and a written statement in which she said the boy really was her son. Then we had to wait until the police computer decided to work and after that we could finally go to the embassy to get a temp document so he could come back to Italy. Another not so nice experience was when some students were caught drinking alcohol and risked being sent back to Italy, but other than that, everything was fine. But now I'm so tired I need a real holiday.

That's the worst bruise I've seen in my life! I hope it doesn't hurt too bad (anymore)?
And it's good that you had fun apart from some things! :) The photos just look so pretty, it makes me want to go to Malta again! xD I was once there, but it was autumn, and I don't think I could stand 38°C in the shade, I think I would collapse! xD
Did you stay in Valetta or somewhere else? :)

It looks even worse in rl. I slipped while I was sitting down on those round inflatable things you use to slide down this thing (http://www.splashandfun.com.mt/images/sw_05.jpg) and it hurt like a bitch, but I just stood up and went on as if nothing happened. Then a couple of hours later one of the students told me I had a bruise, but it was still small, so I thought nothing of it. And then when I got back to the hotel I saw this monster and freaked the fuck out. D: Now it only hurts a little if I touch it, but I really didn't know what to do at the time.

Now it only hurts a little if I touch it, I went to the doctor today and he gave me a gel to put onto it.

We stayed in St. Julian's, which is like a small Ibiza. Imagine staying in a place like that and telling your students "You can't drink alcohol nor get into any of those clubs, you can only go to the our disco, so we can control you." Yeah, right. >_>

Yeah, they did most of the time. The only "problem" was that they always arrived late when we had to meet somewhere, but that's to be expected, so I can't really complain.

Haha, my roommate made me show it to everyone, she went "Show them your bruise!" and people were like "Oh, so you got a bruise", thinking it was just a little thing and then every single one of them made a :O face when they saw it. XD An Austrian guy actually shouted "What the fuck!" It was epic. XD

Well, I'm used to very hot summers, even if at times it felt like I was dying. I would take a shower and 10 minutes later I was already all sweaty. D:

God, that bruise is indeed scary! :O Apart from that, it seems that you had a nice - even if exhausting! - time over there and I'm really glad you liked Malta! :D It also makes me wanna go back there (I went in May-June and I really think it's the best time to go there : the weather is wonderful, but not as hot as what you had and there might be less tourists than in July-August!) Besides, the pictures are amazing, thanks for sharing! <3

Malta must be lovely when it's not so hot and there aren't all those tourists around. Still, that's not the best place to send Italian students to learn English, since most Maltese people can speak Italian. ;)

Ouch. I had a bruise in such a colour after being hit by a lowkick, but it was never THAT huge. O_O

I still can't decide, if the cake looks yummy or toxic. XD

Yeah, the green is a bit unnatural, but I can assure you it was yummy. :)
