I'm so ashamed of myself. I'm 23 years old and... I WANT ONE OF THOSE BRATS DOLLS!

[...]

Yeah, yeah, you can all stop laughing now. *sigh* I've liked them since the first time I saw them (Jade and Sasha are my favourite. My God, I even have *favourites*) and when I saw an ad of their "Winter Collection" yesterday I immediately fell in love with it. Then today I was in a shop and I... sort of... "found myself" in the kids section and wanted to buy everything! *sigh* If they'd cost less (they're bloody expensive, for &%$£'s sake!), I might have bought something. I know, I know, I'm hopeless. It all comes from my Barbie doll syndrome, I suppose: when I was a child I (like 90% of the girls living in the "Western World") loved that bloody doll. Since I was quite fat (and terribly shy) and couldn't wear the things I liked (and my family wasn't exactly rich, so we couldn't have afforded them anyway), I projected my desires onto it. I still didn't have fancy clothes, but I could dress up my dolls and pretend their clothes were my clothes.

It all sounds like a lot of rubbish, doesn't it? My problem is that I like dolls (Barbie dolls, Brats dolls, even rag dolls) and I'm ashamed of it. Because it's OK to read comics and Harry Potter books, but I'm afraid people will think I'm childish if they find out I like dolls.

Well, anyway, to cheer myself up a bit I bought a funky 6-piece coffee set: every cup and saucer has a different picture, stylised and '60s style, it was the last set left and quite cheap, so I thought "Why not?" That's the adult thing to do, isn't it? *shakes head*
