Challenge # 3

In your own space, put some favorite characters into an AU, fuse some favorite canons together, talk about your favorite AU/fusion tropes, or tell us why AU/fusions aren’t your cup of tea. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I'm always a bit conflicted about AUs, because usually when I like characters enough to read and/or write fanfiction or draw fanart, it means I'm very invested in the story and the setting as they are. I rarely write or draw AUs, and the few times I did, it was for challenges or specific prompts or I was inspired by someone else's AU.

That said, there are some AUs that I absolutely loved:

"Slow show" by mia_ugly: an incredible Good Omens human!AU. Slow burn, angst, pining, I couldn't stop reading.

"All the way to Paris" by carolinecrane: a CSI AU where Greg leaves Vegas after the lab explosion (does canon-divergence count as AU? I'm not sure. But I LOVED this fic.)

There are also some great reverse!AUs in the Good Omens fandom, as well as other AUs. Two of my favourite ones are Golden Omens by MartinaH and Monster Omens by ov_fanarts.

And talking about the latter, I guess there is one AU I will ALWAYS read, no matter what fandom I'm in at the moment: anything involving vampires, I'm in!
