gothikmaus: (OMGWTF!)
As predicted, I've just logged in to say: WHAT THE FUCK, BELA IS SO FUCKING HOT!

Really, it can't only be good genes, it must be either plastic surgery (at least botox) or a deal with the devil.

Now of course I regret not getting a ticket for Giessen today. *headdesk* But the sun is shining and I've never visited Dresden, so I should be busy enough not to think about it too much. And I'm going to Hamburg and Berlin anyway. Maybe I'll ask if I can take those 3 days off, so I can see both Hamburg shows and the Leipzig one as well.

Oh Bela, you turn me into such a stupid, hopeless fangirl...

All right, off to eat something and visit Dresden now!

Safe and sound zuhause! Oh man, when I'm tired I mix up all my languages. (And when I'm really tired I start to rhyme...)

A rambly report before I go to bed.

Bela B y Los Helmstedt, 13/11/2009, Dresden

>>> Other pictures here.

Bela's concert was so, so, so great. I arrived at the venue around 17:45, der Alte Schlachthof was only 15 minutes on foot from my hostel and on the way there I met a girl who, despite coming from Dresden, had no idea where the venue was and asked me if I knew the way. Well, I did (thanks, Google Maps!), so we started chatting and when I mentioned I come from Milan, she was very surprised and said "Mailand ist ja Italien, oder? Also, du kannst total Italienisch!" Ja, total! XD

The entry was the most relaxed thing ever, because you had to go into a court to get to the door and from around 6 PM the security didn't let anybody in, so we were not even 100 people there when the doors opened, and they let us in very slowly. I didn't even run and ended up in the second row, in a wonderful place just a bit to the left from Bela (I actually prefer that than being right in front of him, because the microphone doesn't get in the way. :P)

Before the show they played various songs, including the Derrick theme and an Italian song from the '50s called "Dracula chachacha". I laughed so much at that! XD

There was a staircase at the centre of the stage and as soon as I saw it, I knew there would be some kitschy vaudeville involved. I wasn't disappointed, as Bela first appeared as a silouette behind a paper curtain, then broke through it and walked down said staircase in perfect Las Vegas style. The band was wearing black and white costumes and, during "Rockula", a Bela mask.

The running gag of the evening was "Mana-mana", Bela started it at some point and then things got out of hand and the audience sang it a couple more times, before moving on to... the Sesame Strasse Song! XD Bela just stood there laughing and said "When we started with Die Ärzte someone said we were childish and now, 25 years later, I'm on stage and my audience sings the Sesame Strasse Song to me..." Priceless! XD

At one point he said something like "Yeah, I'm 10 cm taller now. That is only 4 cm to... what's his name again?" Aww. X3

When they played the intro of "Ninjababypowpow" I thought "Oh, are they playing a Metallica cover now?" I can't help it! The intro totally sounds like Metallica! Apart from the first 4 notes, those sound like Pink Floyd. :P

During Bobotanz they had a big Bela puppet "dancing", it was so, so silly.

There were a lot of encores, 3 or 4, and the very last one was "One night stand", with Paule wearing a pink baby doll and Bela his rhinestone suit and hat. He sang with a retro mike and was very Frank Sinatra like. Oh, another thing. In the middle of the concert Bela picked up the Elvis photo that was standing on his amp, kept it in front of his face and started combing his hand through his hair as if he was looking at himself in the mirror. And he kept posing and making kissing faces for the girls in the front row. Oh, Bela... *shakes head* He pretty much dedicated Traumfrau to the girl standing in front of me, he didn't say anything but kept looking at her with his "flirty face" and threw a pick at her afterwards. By the way, they didn't get a girl from the audience to go on stage during the song, I think that tradition is pretty much over. I still can't believe my luck for being able to dance with him 2 years ago - and I have to thank Wayne for that.

Apropos Wayne, der Neue (aka Gary) doesn't have a microphone. I guess Bela needs to be in the center of the attention, uh? He also glared at Danny a couple of times for messing up or starting too late, I guess it's normal to make mistakes, it was only the second show of the tour. Still, I hope Bela doesn't turn into a stage tyrant, I can still remember when he messed up his guitar parts 3 years ago...

The guy standing to my right was an idiot who kept smoking and arguing with his friend, who was standing in the front row a couple of places to my left, so I was in the middle. Meh. Other than that, a really great show. There was no Autogrammstunde, even if they finished quite early, there was no opening act and at 10:15 everything was over. I didn't manage to get anything to drink though, because, for some reason, the 3 bars in the venue could only sell drinks until 10:30. WTF? Anyway, since it was still relatively early and I didn't feel like going back to the hostel, I stayed there with another dozen people, but in the end nothing happened. Oh well, I hope I'll be luckier next time. It's not like I want another autograph, I'd just like to give Bela a comic book. Hey, it's a tradition!

Also, I said I would buy them, and I did!

With nice instructions on how to use them. XD I also bought a key ring, I didn't really like the T-shirts that much.

And now, I'm going to bed. I'm kinda glad I didn't go to Giessen, I checked and it would've taken me ages to get there from Dresden. Now I just need to think of a very nice way for asking about taking those 3 days off...

Goodnight!
