He couldn't understand. They used to be best friends, almost brothers. They shared a flat, they went on holiday together, they knew each other better than anyone else. They weren't just a band, they were a family. How could they go from that to treating each other like strangers?
Bela couldn't believe Jan had just walked past him without even saying hello. His first reaction had been to walk up to him and hug him, they hadn't seen each other for so long. Bela knew Jan had seen him, he had caught him glancing his way more than once. But, for some reason, he had decided to ignore him.
Fine, he thought. Act like I don't exist, I don't fucking care.
He felt stupid for missing him, the man clearly didn't deserve a second of his time.
He went to the toilet and locked himself into one of the cubicles. He took the little plastic bag out of his jacket pocket and knelt down.
I don't need you.
Everything blurred in his mind. The concerts. The fans. Thousands of voices singing their songs. Jan's smile as he pushed him up against the wall and kissed him.
I don't fucking need you.
