Various and sundry

JOB
I've been so busy this week. I started working in this new office and things are OK so far, I could finish the first assignment with no problems and people seem quite pleased, the man who's testing my programs (I made 3 programs in 5 1/2 days...) kept telling me "I like it, yes, I like it..." It may not be my dream job, but it's nice being appreciated for what I do.
Yesterday evening I also had a second interview for the job in the communication office of the MiTo music festival. It would be a nice job, despite the crappy contract they offer, but they need someone right now and I have a 30 days notice, so I had to refuse. I mean, I haven't refused yet, they told me to think about it and to let them know on Monday, but there's really not much I can do at this point. Had they called me a week ago things would've been different, I could've probably asked my boss to let me go with just a 2 weeks notice since I hadn't started any projects yet, but now I've just started a new one and I can't just resign. I mean, I could, but I'll have to pay a fee. Usually the one who wants to hire you pays the fee if they really need you to start at once, but not for a 6-month job.
It's a pity, because they said I'd made a very good impression and from what they told me I think I was their "first choice" for the position. Oh well, it must be fate. They're horribly late though, the first big press conference is going to take place on the 29th May, they want the whole promotional campaign to be ready by mid-May and they're still looking for people? Talk about organisation...
BAND
Last night we recorded three songs, one of which is my personal nightmare, I can NEVER play the strophe riff right, NEVER. After a while I just gave up and we kept the song as it was. The other two songs went much better, they're not perfect but I played decently. We still need to add the voice track to the last two songs, when they're ready we'll probably create a MySpace account and upload them there. Which reminds me, I still need to fix our logo. Damn.
LIFE IN GENERAL
I feel definitely better than 2 weeks ago and I'm not desperate to find a new job any more. Of course I'm still searching, but I got over that sense of oppression I'd had for the last month. Maybe because I've finally sent away my story for the literary contest (even if I don't win, at least I finished something), maybe because they called me for that second interview (I couldn't accept, but at least something's moving), maybe because I'm 99% sure I'll be in Berlin from the 29th May to the 2nd/3rd June (I say 99% because I still have to buy plane tickets, which I'll do next week, I need to recharge my debit card first).
So, all in all, things could be worse. And for the moment, that's enough. :)
