Oh lookit, she's not dead yet. Last week was quite uneventful and I didn't feel like posting, but yesterday was amazing. I went with Elena, Stefano and a friend of his to Turin to see a festival, Stefano is a big fan of Franco Battiato, an Italian singer who played a free concert there last night, so we decided to go together. I thought of it as a little warm-up for the upcoming "tour" in Germany. ;)

We arrived at the concert area around midday but there was no one around, so we decided to eat something and visit the city centre. It felt strange being back in Turin after having worked there for a couple of months at the beginning of this year. I noticed there are quite a few emo/indie shops in one of the main streets, I was tempted to buy a cowboy hat with a skull print and wear it at Bela's concerts, but I didn't in the end.

We walked around in the sun for a couple of hours and I ended up getting a sunburn all over my shoulders. I had thought of bringing some sun lotion but then I thought it wouldn't be necessary. The hell it wasn't, my shoulders are still all red. I'm just not the typical Mediterranean girl, dark-haired and easily tanned. Not at all. Thank God I was smart enough to wear a hat, I would've got a sunstroke otherwise. So I wore the short-sleeved jacket my parents brought me from the USA to avoid further damage to my poor skin, even if it was very hot, and my friends told me "You look SO emo." :P

We got back to the concert area around 5 PM and a few people were already there, so we sat down in front of the stage and waited for the concert to start. The first artist was Ivan Segreto, a Sicilian singer/songwriter who played 3 or 4 songs, then Anthony and the Johnsons (how fucking crazy is that guy???) and then finally around 10 PM Franco Battiato. At first he played a couple of songs with just a string quartet, piano and keybords, then other musicians took turns on stage. He played with the girls from Mab (God, they're AMAZING) and the guys from FSC and in the end he sang a few songs with Subsonica, one of my favourite Italian bands.

I got home past 4 AM this morning, exhausted but happy.

I also took a short video during "Voglio vederti danzare", I'll upload it next week from the uni lab. God, I hate not having a decent internet connection at home. =/

And for the random Belaness of the day:

God, he's so hot, I can even forget that dreadful moustache! 3 weeks and I'll see him live again! ♥♥♥

PS: I mentioned God quite a few times in this post...
