I found the journal of a very talented Italian girl whose art is amazing. At first I thought "Man, why do I even bother, I'll never draw like that." But then I read a comment along the lines of "Seeing the work of those who are better than you really makes you want to try and improve." And so I took a pen, a piece of paper and started doodling. And, you know, it worked. I mean, I know I'm not an artist and I know my biggest problem is my laziness. If only I tried hard enough I could come up with something decent, but I'm just not patient enough. And I'm afraid of failure, what if I did make an effort and the results are crap? Instead I just doodle, without caring too much or trying too hard, that way I can always blame my laziness. Lame, isn't it? *sigh*
But anyway, here's one of the drawings from yesterday. Drawn on the back of some old document with a blue pen. I should pay more attention to clothes, I'd really like to draw pretty, realistic folds.
I've also been writing lately, mostly drabbles for that monster that is
drabbles100. Hopefully I'll finish something next week, since I'm not working. Yes, I'm having a week off even if I've got nothing to do and nowhere to go, but on the 15th and 16th the office is closed, all my colleagues are on holiday and I don't have any work left, so I took Monday, Thursday and Friday off. I'll try to use the extra free time in a productive way.
