Bela, Bela, where for art thou Bela?
Jun. 28th, 2006 10:36 pmSo, Bela B and Sarah Kuttner are together. I've noticed a lot of people on the bela-d forum and here on LJ saying they're disappointed, people saying "Why her? There are so many pretty girls out there, why did you pick her?"
Allow me to rant a bit about this. First, I find her pretty. Sure, she's not a supermodel, but she's definitely not ugly. Second, I think that him choosing someone quite "normal-looking" should be a positive thing, it means he doesn't judge a woman just by her looks. What if he had got together with, say, Heidi Klum? A lot of "OMG not that bitch!" and "Fuck Bela, why a model?" would have followed.
This actually reminds me of something that happened to me a few years back. In my second and third year of university I had this awful crush on a pretty punkish boy and of course I never spoke to him because he was just too cool for me. One day I saw him sitting with an equally pretty punkish girl and thought "Yes, that's the right girl for him." If I had seen him with someone ordinary I would've been mad, because in my mind he deserved to be with someone as stylish and good-looking as him. I could stand the thought of "losing him" against someone cool, someone I couldn't compete with, but having him choose someone "normal" was simply inconceivable. It would mean that *gasp* maybe even I might have had a chance? A chance I stupidly didn't take advantage of because of my damned shyness and lack of self-esteem? No way.
I don't know if I'm making any sense, but the two situations sounded similar to me. Also, I don't want to offend anyone with this post, I just found all those comments a bit weird.
And I won't deny that this thought crossed my mind: "She's 27? 27? Just 1 year older than me???" XD
