On songs and stockings
Sep. 18th, 2005 10:35 amI've found the definitive song with the definitive video: Sumisu, by Farin Urlaub. I downloaded the "alternative video" from www.farinurlaub.de and it was love at first bite, er, sight.
First: the song is the ultimate teenage goth anthem; there's even a Cure reference (see below for lyrics). I love the bass part and Sumisu is the Japanese transliteration of Smiths! *geeky moment*
Second: the video. The video! Farin plays Nosferatu (you know the film by Murnau, right?) and for a girl who's been collecting anything vampire-related since she was attending primary school that's to die for.
But anyway, here are the German lyrics with the English translation.
( Sumisu, by Farin Urlaub )
Also, I was tidying up my drawers yesterday and found a picture from last April in London. Demi and I had just come back to the hostel from the Curedrink (on foot), it must have been around 3 am and I was totally devastated. 2 concerts, pints of beer and cider, lots of cool people to talk to... And she just had to take a pic of me in that state, dear girl. And no, I was NOT drunk. I've come to the conclusion that I'm physically incapable of getting drunk. And I'm not complaining, no matter how much I drink I never get hangover. ^__^
I will spare you the whole picture, but I have to show you this.
( Aren't these stockings the coolest thing ever? )
