If I ever find out who did it...
Jul. 6th, 2004 09:03 pmWhat's worse than getting a flat tyre? Getting a flat tyre when it's raining! ARGH! And I'm home alone these days, so I couldn't even call my dad. Luckily I managed to drive from the underground station to the mall and then from there I walked to our mechanic's workshop, which is just 5 minutes on foot from there. But what really pissed me off is that he found out that the tyre valve had been nicked! I hardly ever use the car, but today I had to because buses and trains were on strike from 8.45 to 15.00 and from 18.00 to midnight. So I left the car at the car park near the underground station this morning, knowing that I would get back around 18.00 with one the last trains and then I'd take the car to go home. But someone had the brilliant and extremely funny idea to nick the bloody tyre valve. The mechanic didn't want to believe it at first, he said 'What would someone do with a tyre valve?' Well, nothing, obviously, nothing but piss off the car owner who can't go home after a day at work.
And just 5 minutes ago my dad called. I had thought of calling him, but then I thought my mother would get anxious and changed my mind. I'm just so glad he called, so I could tell him everything and he reassured me and told me I did the right thing. I'm still quite surprised I didn't panic, I'm usually pretty nervous when my dad's car's involved...
Now I just hope the mechanic won't ask for an enormous amount of money tomorrow.
