Interview meme from [livejournal.com profile] schwimmerin!

1. If were going to be uprooted from your home and all your friends, family, and stuff and placed somewhere else on earth but with no way to ever escape from there, BUT you got to pick where, where would you go?

I'm very undecided between London and Berlin. Until a couple of years ago I would have said London straight away, but after being in Berlin 2 years ago I changed my mind. I was in London just last year and I still think it's one of the coolest places I've ever been to, but it's so chaotic, I don't know if I'd be able to spend all my life there. Berlin is much more... livable, I suppose. There's a lot to do and see, but the mood is more relaxed. Besides, things are generally cheaper than in London, which is also an important aspect to consider. ;)

2. What is the most "stereotypically Italian" thing about you?

This is going to sound stupid, but a German friend told me once that dunking biscuits in your cappuccino at breakfast is a typically Italian thing to do. :P

Also, I tend to talk quite loudly and gesticulate a lot. That's all I can think of, but maybe I'm a walking stereotype and I just don't realise it. :P

3. What is the least "stereotypically Italian" thing about you? (I'm boring, I know, but I'm curious about both and it doesn't seem fair to lump that into one question ^_~)

You're not boring! I love talking about cultural stereotypes. :)

Let's see, when I'm abroad people tell me that I neither look nor sound Italian. I'm not the typical Mediterranean girl, hell, I managed to get sunburnt at Wannsee, just outside Berlin. And in Chester too, which is even norther. -__-

I also try very hard to talk without an Italian accent. Luckily I'm quite good at imitating accents and find it funny (one of my dream jobs is to become a film dubber), so it's not really a problem. And I always try to adapt when I'm abroad. A stupid example: no matter where they are, be it Germany or Canada or Japan, Italians usually go to Italian restaurants and then complain because "That's not real Italian food." Well, what were you expecting? I got so mad when I went to Austria last year, there was this group of Italians looking for an Italian restaurant in Innsbruck because they didn't want to eat the "disgusting local food". WTF? You haven't even tried it, how can you say it's disgusting?

4. What is your favorite food? As in, if you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Argh, there are so many things I like! Right now I'd say lasagne, because I ate some just today and they were yummy. Mum-made food is the best. :P I wouldn't mind living on Greek salad either, though. Or ice cream (mmh, stracciatella...)

5. You are walking along the streets of Milan when suddenly...no wait, that can't be...OMG IT IS!! You see Farin coming your way. What do you do and/or say?

This is actually a difficult one. If it were Bela or Rod I'd probably say something (after recovering from the sudden heart attack, of course), even something completely stupid like "Excuse me, are you Bela from Die Ärzte? WOW, I'm a big fan of yours, I never thought I'd meet you in Milan!" But with Farin I'm not so sure I'd dare, I find him kind of intimidating. He's always saying how much he values his privacy, I'd be afraid he'd just tell me to piss off. But if I just walked past him without doing anything, I'd kick myself for missing the opportunity, so I'd probably say "Hello." And I'd ask him if I could please take a picture with him and curse myself for not bringing my camera along, because the one in my cell phone is crap. :P

And [livejournal.com profile] zenkatze wanted to see my books for the photo-meme, so here they are.

Two books about Germany I bought recently, I finished the one on the right and I'm currently reading the other one.

Left to right: Scandinavian, Arabian and Japanese legends, some books on mass media I used for my degree thesis, an X-Files book, a book on Germany I got in high school, a Star Trek novel, more Japanese legends, a book on shonen ai, a book on the colour black and its meaning in art and culture, another Star Trek novel (geek much?), Alice in Wonderland, Poetry of the Romantics, 1984, Fantastic Beasts and where to find them (geeeeek), a couple of books on clairvoyance and tarots, Tibetan legends aaand... a pocket edition of The Divine Comedy!

Top shelf: music books from when I studied piano, my degree thesis, English and German books from high school, a big book on origami, a few funny books by Italian comedians, the history of The Sex Pistols and The Cure and some notebooks and folders full of random stuff. And my kiwido. :P

Second shelf: comic books, the 2 Peter Pan novels, a book about black magic I got as present from my friends ("We saw this and immediately thought of you!" Er, thanks? o_O), the Harry Potter series (some in Italian, some in English), the Gormenghast Trilogy, Good Omens and some other novels.

More comic books. I have so many of them, there are two rows on that shelf and many more on other shelves. It's insane! On the bottom shelf there are mainly dictionaries: Latin, Italian, English, German; an old encyclopaedia and a couple of old atlases. And more random stuff.
