Two down, five to go

I've finally started working on this year's Christmas cards, I should be able to send the first three by the end of the week. I began with the ones that are flying to another continent, you never know how long that might take.

I also made a birthday invite for a friend of mine who turned 30 last week. Most of my friends usually celebrate in a pub or a pizzeria and maybe we go dancing somewhere afterwards, but this time we're going to a "disco restaurant", that is, a restaurant that turns into a club after dinner. I looked up their website and it looked so incredibly posh, then I checked the address and I couldn't believe my eyes: it's inside a golf club! Everyone will be filthy rich, I'm sure. Well, this friend of mine is filthy rich as well, but we've known each other since primary school and she's not one of those people who always need to show off. It's not her fault her mother sent her to a very expensive secondary school and always bought her clothes in the Italian equivalent of Harrod's. >_>

And a meme stolen from [livejournal.com profile] irisbleufic:

If my blog were a place, what would it look like?

A golf club? And she's female? How controversial XD

In response to the meme, I think your blog looks like a station platform on a kind-of-sunny-but-there's-a-bit-of-cloud-in-the-sky day that's covered in ticket stubs X3 But it's a station platform that doesn't have an actual ticket office, so you need to jump on the first train that comes and jump off at the next station before the ticket inspector comes XD Even if you have no idea what the next station is.

I think the restaurant is not really part of the golf club so anyone can go there, but it does sound awfully posh. XD

That image is amazing and describes my life perfectly! XD I actually had to do the train-hopping once, luckily there was a 20-minute stop at the next station... ^_^

God, posh places scare me. At least you've had a little warning though! Nothing worse than turning up to somewhere decorated in gold leaf and you're dressed like a tramp X3

She's not too fond of birthday parties, but said she was virtually "forced" to celebrate by her other friends because she turned 30, and since most of her friends are kinda posh, I was expecting a sort of elegant place, but not an effing golf club! XD

Apropos poch places, another friend of mine told me she went to a pub last month and her drink was decorated with rose petals and gold powder. What the hell... o_O

Hey, you can't get any more elitist than a golf course! They are the ultimate in poshness. At least, they are here in Brit Land. The "real" kind at any rate.

I'm sure I heard that ingesting gold has positive health effects, but I might be confusing that with a fairy tale XD

Here golf and tennis are considered "rich people sports". This girl plays tennis. -_-

I don't know, maybe I'm worrying too much, but none of my other friends are coming, so it'll just be me and her rich friends. *sigh*
